Massive Fire Destroys Movie Sets @ Universal Studios
About 24 hours ago a massive fire broke out in the backlot of Hollywood's Universal Studios destroying several sets used for past and present films and TV shows.
Among the destroyed in the fire... - King Kong attraction
- NY Street sets used in such movies/TV shows as Seinfeld & Bruce Almighty
- Courthouse Square sets used in such movies as Back to the Future, Transformers and was currently being used for 'Ghost Whisperer' (note: Back to the Future's clocktower survived the fire)
- A video vault housing tens of thousands of masters of old Universal films/TV shows

This is a real tragedy for cinematic history. While the sets will be rebuilt, there's no replacing the masters that were in that vault, nor will the King Kong attraction likely ever return.
