Ok I am trying to do this transporter.
I have the trailer painted, but how can I get the chrome effect to show up in 3ds max without covering up my paint. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think I need to use a multi/sub-object material in 3ds, but I need to figure that out first. When you paint chrome wheels on your cars we have to apply the chrome to the wheels when we render them.

I figured something out. Not what I was getting at but it works for now.
If someone knows how to do what I was looking for I will still take there input. Look for my Penske hauler in the showroom soon.

IF I get what you're trying to do, you could try using the reflection as the mask or opacity map. I can't try anything out till Friday Night or Saturday, but that would be my guess. If you have a black
There's a way to get the chrome to show through on a certain color (ie black) and I think it's using the Opacity map. For example, the rims on the NNC07 cars do not have holes so they have to be added in. My opacity map is the holes in the rim and the reflection map has my chrome. The principal is the same, but the application is different.
