Learning the Tricks & Trades of Making Bases, Logos, and Numbers!
Hi everyone!
In the past I've designed my own cars using bases by recoloring them to fit the sponsors. But I've recently decided that I may want to go into the buisness of designing graphics and such for real once I get older and maybe go into it as a career. However, I've known this as a rule for a while that if you submit designs to teams they won't use it unless you've made your own base and numbers...aswell as the fact that once I get into it I won't have any bases to work with and I'll have to design everything myself. I know there's a lot of creativity that you have to have, and I think I have that to some degree. I'd like to start designing my own bases! I currently own Paint Shop Pro 7 and I'm starting to experiment with the "Pencil" tool under the Tool Palette! My question is the following, using PSP7 (As I don't have enough money to afford Photoshop or the time to learn the ropes of it!), which is the best way to design curved lines? I'm attempting to design the Sears/Valvoline base from Jamie McMurray this week. Are there any plugins to creating curved lines for PSP7? I'm trying to design the rear quarterpanels to start working on designing my own bases! (Refrence: http://www.jayski.com/schemes/2009/c...ine-layout.jpg). How would I start designing these curved lines? Any help you'd be willing to give me from you experienced base designers and painters out there is MUCH appreciated!
