I know this isn't racing related, but I achieved something so great Tuesday 6/2/2009 that this deserves to be in a thread.

Okay, championship baseball game our team Red Sox vs Yankees, our actual rival team. Our team was home, in the field first, so that means if we're losing in the bottom of the last inning, we still get a chance to score.

The game end up going into extra innings, we regularly only play six inning.

Bottom of the 8th, the best hitters, 3rd 4th and 5th (Dewey, Dale, ME) were due up.

Dewey hits a single, and so does Dale, but Dale sneaks safely into 2nd and Dewey holds up at 3rd base. Me up, first pitch I liked and drove it into the right center gap. Stand up double. I hit in the winning run. I was so happy I cried for around 10-12 minutes along with other teammates. I have never had that happen, but I've dreamed of it. I got the game ball (the one I hit)


The other team coach, the coach's son and another kid got mad and threw gloves and bats when our team caught a fly ball to advance safely into the bottom of the 8th and hit. They ended up getting ejected!
After the awesome winning double, the awards.
When the coach gave me the medal, he said I'm now AJ "The Clutch" Stravato.

I got so many pictures taken.

Sadly, my dad didn't get to see it because that day at 12:30 PM, he had to go to a business trip in Dallas. So after the awesome hit, I remember getting the hit, hearing the crowd go nuts. Then getting on 2nd, screaming YES YES YES!!!!!!
Then I felt so happy, I just started crying. Got the game winning ball that I crushed, and called my dad in Dallas and told him what happened even though my mom was texting him the whole game telling him what was going on.
I sure hope to do this on the ALL STAR TEAM, and the kid I hit it off of is one of my friends on the all star team.
After my mom told him Dale on 2nd and Dewey on third, this is the last text message my mom got before I talked to my dad in Dallas.

YAYAYAYAYAY! Congrats. I played baseball for 7 years but my dad drove big trucks and couldn't make many games. I feel your pain. I hit a home run and no one saw it.

Congratulations man! I too understand the pressure and joy of the "BIG" game. I miss playing but I had alot of fun.

Thanks both of you. I was crying obviously after that. I bat 5th, the back up power hitter. It was awesome. I loved it.

I hope to do the same thing during my 2009 All Star Season this summer.

If you are curious, the picture with the coach is obvuosly me, lolz. He's the best coach ever man, he's also my all star baseball team coach along with a few others.

Anyways, the team photo, I'm on the top most right hand corner. If you look closely, I'm holding the game ball.......
