Sorry to bump an old thread, but can anyone explain how to use WinMip2 to tweak the shiny.mip to be less shiny? I can open it with WinMip2 but I'm not sure what to do from there. TIA.

I don't think it's a different size because the incorrect specular lines up perfectly in the tach. I think it's just someone retextured the tach but forgot to make a new specular to match it. Would it be possible to just use the textures from the default cup carset?
Anyone know if there's a way to fix this weird tach texture issue in the 2003/2004 etc SNG mod? Seems like an issue with specular mapping or something because you only see it when light is hitting it.
Thanks for your reply! Solar effects on/off is no change. I don't know how to work with textures or compress them etc, I just use the mods and tracks as they are delivered. No change with sounds also.
