Default Jeff Gordon Retire??
who here thinks gordon should retire?
i think he should.
i mean, hes always been my favorite driver, and hes 2nd now to martin. but he just doesnt seem to have it in him anymore to win races or championships. he comes close. but hes been in some hard wrecks this year espesailly. and he has a family now. he has alot of wins, and 4 championships, and alot of drivers respect him and hes raced for quite a awhile, but i think he should retire. and his back problems too. it doesnt make it any easier for him as a driver to go out and compete with back problems. thats hard to pull off. im suprised he got that win at texas, he just hasnt been anywhere near what he used to be.

Jeff still has it in him. He is still one of the best in the field. Little known fact: Jeff had the highest finishing average of the entire Cup series this year. That has to count for something.

Honestly, I think when he gets to the point that he just can't get in and out of the car anymore and when wrecks, even small ones, are just to much - Or racing will have to kill him. He's like Richard Petty. Mark Martin is the same way.

If JG is struggling, its not because of lack of talent and desire, its lack of crew chief.

I agree that Gordon's not as good as he was in the late 90's. Maybe the competition has improved or it might be down to the driver. Either way, it's not time to run limited schedules just yet, I think he could run til around the latter part of the next decade, then he may decide to call it a career.

Maybe he should pull a Mark Martin...it worked for Mark...lol

But in all seriousness Gordon still got some years left in the tank... I think it will all depend on if he wants to keep racing.
