I don't know why some people are so quick to be judgmental and make assumptions...

He's still Todd Parrott.

You take drugs, especially ones you know are banned in your profession, you're a moron. If saying that makes me judgmental, then I'll be judgmental.

For all we know he could have just taken a bad pill, but you're treating him like he's a meth kingpin.

As someone who watched an otherwise clean family member suffer through prescription drug dependency, I know for a fact that substance abuse it isn't as black and white as you're making it.

Garage area scuttlebutt (this is coming from Mark Garrow) is that Parrott told a close friend that he "messed up".

Sounds pretty clear to me...

What he's trying to say is that Todd Parrott is not a terrible person, or a moron, he just messed up. He's human, just like the rest of us. We all make mistakes, and Todd's well aware that he made a mistake.

Fine, but I can still call him a moron for the choice that he made. Don't get me wrong, I love Todd Parrot and have ever since he and Jarrett won the Daytona 500 and won a Winston Cup together. In a way, that makes me all the more disappointed in his choice. There's no justification at all for what he did. Parrot's not a meth kingpin, and nobody said he was, but what Todd and a meth kingpin have in common now is that they both made really stupid choices in their lives. That should be the lesson we can all learn here.

That said, you're correct, he's human and he made a mistake. Part of owning up for your mistakes is to first admit that was a mistake, and then take steps to not make that mistake again. I hope he does, and I hope he gets back to the track all the wiser for this experience.

For the record, stating an opinion on this forum gives nobody a permission slip to name call or otherwise insult other people on this forum. We can disagree until the cows come home, and that's fine, but name calling and insulting other SRD members is never ok no matter how much you might disagree. I'm also disappointed in a couple of our long term, respected members who apparently forgot this recently. In a kind of similar way, I hope they learn from the mistake they made and come back the wiser for it.

Well the King wants nothing to do with this. Rightfully so. This man doesnt even believe in Alcoholic Beverages. I hope Todd can get back up on his feet.
