If I remember correctly it was just a few months after Adam Petty was killed, and almost in the same spot that Kenny got killed at New Hampshire, Adam was killed May 12, 2000 and Kenny was killed July 7, 2000.

I hate the fact the media only focuses on the deaths of Adam Petty or Dale Earnhardt. Kenny Irwin would've been big I think. Don't get me wrong, Petty and Earnhardt deserved the coverage that was huge news. But to Kenny Irwin was just as big. I keep a Kenny Irwin post up in my room since he died.

I believe if Kenny had not been killed, he would be one of the top contenders in Nascar today, but thats just my opinion.

I agree with everything you said buddy. I would loved to see how well Irwin would have been. Let's not forget Tony Roper either.

I know he was at the end of his career, but don't forget Neil Bonnett either, he was one of my favorite drivers back in the days of the Alabama gang.

Stooge,

There's also Rodney Orr, who was killed in a practice accident around the time Neil was killed, and Blaise Alexander, who died from injuries sustained in an accident during an ARCA race at Lowe's Motor Speedway in 2001.

Last but certainly not least, there's J.D. McDuffie, who died in a crash at Watkins Glen in 1991. There is a video clip of McDuffie's fatal crash posted on YouTube.

Yes I knew Grant Adcox very well, I worked at his dads GM dealership, Adcox Chevrolet, I helped build Grants engines, transmissions and rear differentials for his race cars, I've also built engines, transmissions and rear differentials for a local lady who used to race in ARCA, some of you may have heard of her Tammy Jo Kirk.

All will be missed, sorely. Kenny Irwin could've been the next huge thing, the catalyst to then, Sabco, now Ganassi's team.

Adam Petty was going to keep Petty Enterprises going strong for the next two decades. With him ended a legacy in NASCAR.

Roper, Bonnett, Alexander, Earnhardt...all will be missed.
