They should definetly have a road course, but not Watkins Glen or Infineon, maybe Sebring, Mid Ohio or Road Atlanta ( I personally would like to see Limerock Park) some place where these drivers have not been to before. But maybne they should run 1 or 2 chase races at some local tracks across the country after all that's where these drivers got there start at their local track.

I think the chase is cool, but the field is not leveled, all chase drivers are from the top four teams, when will Bobby Labonte enter a chase ?? When he goes to JGR aggain?

No.
The chase format does not need to be changed. Jimmie Johnson and his team are just darn good! You can come up with any points system you want rewarding more wins, or consistency and the #48 team will come through. It's not like they are just making sure they finish top 10 or whatever, as everyone knows they are winning races. Changing the Chase format would be punishing the best team in the series. |

As some of you have said before, certain teams have figured out how to win. How do they do it? Money of course. Money buys all the best parts people and exposure. Granted you have to have a bit of luck and consistency (looks at Dale Earnhardt Jr.) but look at the guys who are winning big time. Now, I understand that a team and driver have to perform well to get into that kind of money, but when you start out on a Hendrick or Evernham team, you can afford win tunnel testing and practice on the next tracks a week and a half before the race. How often have we seen an unsponsored car leading the race for 100+ laps?
And I swear the sponsors have gotten into the announcer booth because those guys will rarely mention anyone who's not a chase contender or superstar even if the chase guys are running in the back or have crashed (looks at Dale Earnhardt Jr. again). I saw Bill Elliot go from nearly last to the top twenty last weekend and they only mentioned his name when he was being lapped. And that was only because he was in the frame with Johnson. (rant ends) So besides going into detail, I do believe that the teams with more support have an advantage and that is a huge (albeit not the single) factor that is making the same handful of drivers run 1-5 every week. And you have a catch 22 because they already are trying to restrict the number of drivers/cars on a team but when you have trouble finding sponsors, especially in today's economy, how do you afford to race? (Glares at Dale Earnhardt Jr. for no reason)

My ten Chase tracks
Darlington Martinsville Texas Watkins Glen Pocono Richmond Lowe's Atlanta Homestead Daytona I don't think money buys success though, you can throw millions of dollars into a team and have no success (e.g. Red Bull), until you find the magic formula |

They did change the Chase schedule up a little bit for next season with some of the tracks agreeing to trade dates. Talladega is now going to be race 8 of 10 so that should really shake things up!
The 48 team has been excellent in adapting to what ever changes have been made and I seriously doubt whatever changes you could make short of penalizing the 48 everytime for running good that they won't be in the thick of the battle. That team is gelling right now like the 24 did from 1995-1999. They're going to be hard to beat no matter what rules get changed! (which is fine with me since I'm a JJ fan, lol!)

The only downside of it is having California ****way in the Chase, and I can guarantee you that it will suck so bad that you will lynch Brian France for making that stupid move. I'm still not a fan of the Chase, but it's something to get used to in the Brian France (or Bill France III) age. |

[offtopic]
Okay, why does NASCAR even NEED a race in CA in the fall Why not give it to a track like Michigan? In fact, why does NASCAR even need to race in CA at a Michigan clone at all? Surely it'd be better if they raced at a road course like Laguna Seca or a local short track... [/offtopic] IMO, the chase system is flawesd as it is, it needs for the ten/twelve Chase drivers to run to their own points system, leaving the others to race for wins/personal glory |
