(I have only read the first page of this thread)They SHould Throw The Old Sears Point In the chase. it will be like having three different road coarses but at two tracks. i would love to see them do the old sears point. but anyways about the revolving schedule. Ive gone to the September New Hampshire race every year since 2000. And in 2001 after 9/11 New Hampshire was pushed all the way to november after Thanksgiving. Now mind you it snows here already I live in the mountains. It was completely freezing.(its probably the only track that get like that i dont know) But yea i thin within the next couple years they will change some tracks. Maybe get rid of all the tracks that are alike. like texas lowes (they already got rid of atlanta) they need to have more short tracks its rediculous. Maybe they should have a NASCAR short track touring series with the cup cars. I dont know im just ranting on i guess.

Hell i just thought. Change the points system so ti wont be such a big loss when drivers do bad. Make it like the F1 series (except for the whole only the top 8 spots get points.) but they only get 8 points for winning. Maybe make it 43 points for winning and a 1 point drop all the way down to 43rd.

make the points different

43 points for 1st, 42 for 2nd, 41 for 3rd...etc

no bonus points

and if that fails, then every time jimmie johnson wins a race, put a strip of duct tape on his visor...eventually he won't be able to even see!

I like his points idea... i think it would give anyone a chance to make the chase... so if u have some bad drivers having a good day they get points for it!

possibly, would have been closer this year, edwards would have won by 16 pts, and that would have happened the last race of season

And without the Chase, there's no way Johnson, Edwards or any other Chase competitor would have run as hard as they did, or did exactly what they did to cause the outcomes of this year's 10 chase races.

With the Chase, teams in the Chase are under intense pressure to perform without misstep or misfortune, much moreso than they would be without the Chase. It would have turned out so much differently. Kyle Busch wouldn't have been so disgrunteled after his misfortunes at Loudon, Johnson wouldn't have felt it so important to go through the 10 races cleanly, and teams like Biffle's or Earnhardt Jr's wouldn't have thought they'd have had a chance in the world.

You can't look at numbers alone with this. What created those outcomes, and how that would be different without a Chase, must be considered, or you make an assumption with more holes than moon landing conspiracy theories.

nascar has and will survive no matter how they run the points , they had to do something to get ratings up and since they went to the new points the ratings have gone up
