It's been a few days since I last posted. Problems with the wheel: After a few days, and some game updates, sound went into static mode when I plugged the wheel in. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software, but it didn't help. I've been reading other posts were people were having trouble between the wheel and USB headphones. Sound got distorted after plugging in the wheel. Mine did the same thing, however, I'm using Bose Companion 5 speakers, which are USB. What I found out was hooking up to the front side USB hub, the sound distorted. If I hook up to the POWERED 2.0 USB HUB, all is fine. Works everytime.
Recently, I installed another sound type device to the frontside USB, and got a message that the device required more band width than what was available. I hooked into the POWERED 2.0 USB HUB, and all is well. Works everytime. It seems that the Wheel must be hooked up to a powered USB port. I guess on some systems, the frontside ports are NOT powered. Hope this helps others with this issue. |

The only reason to use a G25 as opposed to an ECCI is the force feedback...there are may drivers such as myself that are so accustomed to the f/f an ECCI would be useless. Since getting my G25 from a team mate, I have made the Cup series race in my league 3 out of 4 weeks now. It's definitely a great wheel, and a big improvement over the Logitech DFP, my previous wheel.
I run mine with F/F at 125% in the Profiler and 100% in the game, and H-pattern shifting with "3rd" being first to help prevent missing shifts. But once again, if you don't use F/F you may as well go for the ECCI. Just remember an RSLabs shifter will NOT work with it....you'll need to get either the Sim Gear SSShifter or the TSW gated USB shifter. |

Has anyone had a problem with there being a dead spot when the wheel is centered. I have tried recalibrating and messing around with the force feedback and can't get rid of it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! P.S. at least this G25 is still alot better than the madcatz wheel I was using.

If you set the steering radius (number of degrees it will turn) too high for the specific game, it creates a huge deadspot. 900 degrees works well for GTR and LFS, but you go any higher than 400-500 in NR2003 and you'll get the deadspot.
