There are good painting softwares out there, like corelīs photo paint, paint shop pro, adobe .... You could buy them or download the trials...

No piracy talk please.

There are great free painting programs out there. For raster graphics there are GIMP, GIMPshop, and Paint.NET and for your vector graphics there is Inkscape. You'll want to use a raster graphics program for your cars and a vector graphic program is helpful for editing eps files (like the ones you get from BofW).
