And it was one of many reasons why my COT went open source for commercial use. It's fun seeing my model work out there like that. |

Any and all downloads that have anything to do with RPM models from the SS.net cot mod will be taken down. I will not support or show the models RPM3d made. Anyone wondering why the downloads are disabled, now you know.

I think that's what scares this guy Dan! It's guys that are willing to give of their time and service to the NASCAR community and not rip a team off for $$$. It takes money out of this guy's pocket so he has to scare teams into thinking stuff other than his is illegal. I guess you allowing Kevin to use your stuff for Jr's new scheme somehow makes that illegal. I was actually proud to see your stuff when I saw the show because that was part of the community get some neat recognition! Then seeing your models and well as many of the great render guys like Tucknut and others getting bashed in this guy's pathetic scare attempt of a pdf really got my goat. If his points were all valid then why did he take the pdf down????

Someone can't seem to read... The PDF clearly stated
"All MODELS On these Sites are ILLEGAL for Commercial Usage"... Meaning that if you download the "MODELS" from those sites, you can't use them for commercial usage... Didn't say ANYTHING about those sites doing anything ILLEGAL... I apologize to anyone who took that wrong... I have removed the PDF and I apologize to the community for the misunderstanding, but it was not my intention to slam or discredit or accuse any site of ILLEGAL activity, It was only meant to educate some of these "Guys" out there that just because they see 3D models on a website for download, doesn't mean they can use them for whatever they like and sell them... Perhaps I misworded... and quite frankly I shouldn't have listed sites at all, doesn't take much of a genius to do a goole search and find them... It was a mistake and I apologize... I apologize to all sites listed... Sorry again to everyone... it was not my intentions to cause bad feelings or to hurt the sim community in any way shape or form... I have tried to help the sim community as much as I can... Goodbye... |

It is a bit too late to be reclarifying your point, again.
You really should have thoroughly thought out what you wanted to convey with your announcement before starting all of this. But its too late now...damage done... Life moves on.

The issue was not ALL models shown were illegal. You clearly had Dan's model shown and as he stated above he was open to it's use. That plus the implications made were to make it appear as your model is the only "legal" model out there. I see what you are trying to say but the way it was being said definately was to cast the image that your's was the only legal source. That's what really bugged a lot of people, not to mention the implication of the community's work as being "low quality". I've seen this topic at a lot of the sites you listed and can honestly say you are a very hot topic within the community but from what's being said everyone's view of your help to the community is looked at in a very negative light now. Sorry if that's not what you were intending but trying to tear down the community for personal gain (intentional or not) is not a good way to gain support for your efforts. I love helping anyone in this community in any way I can and seeing others here succeed in their efforts is something I love to see happen but those who get their starts here and then want to turn on the community as not good enough or try to cast it in a negative light is something I do not like to see. I'm sorry this all happened but the damage is definately done within the community now....

Eloquently spoken, Bryant. You're a great example of what keeps this community running strong!
Justin, you should definitely quit now. The "goodbye" at the end of your last post was the smartest thing you've said all day. Put your backhoe away, the hole you're standing in is way too deep as it is. Someone better get some Nikes with rocket boosters on the soles so Justin can get back to terra firma. About the SS.net mod, I didn't realize RPM3D was involved. That mod will be removed from my computer post-haste. Friggin' cars were too damn hard to paint anyway. I'm strictly running Mr. Nisbet's mod exclusively now. HE has the right attitude regarding the sim community. Well, I'd better go, I have a paint request to finish up so I can add another car to my growing list of inferior work. |
