Default Vista issues...
I just got my new laptop and installed NR2003 and all of the mods and such. But when I ran it, it was "laggy". The cursor would continually switch from arrow to hour-glass, and the frame rates sucked.

I've heard mixed reviews about how it works for Vista, so I was wondering if anyone has had this problem before. I would really appreciate any help.

Here are the importat specs:

Dell XPS 1530.
2.5 Ghz, intel duo core T9300 processor
4GB RAM
256MB NVidia GeForce 8600M GT Video card

Did you install to the program files folder? if not un-install and re-install to that folder, also right click on your nr2003 icon and turn off desktop composition, check run in compatability mode for XP, and check run as Administrator. Thats what I had to do on my Vista desktop, and it runs with no problems and no lag. Hope this helps.

Thanks, guys. Unfortunately this has taken a backseat for my computer. I've had the system for 2 days, and now I've got to reload it...

Dell Support system directed me to download a driver that was older than the one that I had installed, already, and now my whole System is f'ed up...2 days, man...

Anyway, thanks for the replies, and I hope to be able to try some of this soon...

Man, now I know what Baker feels like every couple months with his systems...lol j/k

Glad to hear it, I know thats what I had to do, it was one of those trial and error things that took a couple of hours to figure out! You will find that a lot of things have to run in compatibility mode on Vista, and a lot of things will not work with desktop composition on. Now you know what to do in those case's, Stupid Vista!
