Well this topic has come up at another forum and wanted to ask it here though it might better to ask J-Rock or the guys at revamped.
Is it possible to have day to night transition? If you notice when you go from practice, to qualify, to warmup and then race it gets brighter!!? No joke! So i was wondering say like with the hi-rez sky mips here which are SICK...lol that means awsome..... could i put a number of day, then a number of night mips in a custom made track for this sort of thing and have it work? Or something along the lines of that? Orrrrrrr is it that it's hard coded into the EXE which we cannot touch? |

You'd have to make some sort of animated mip just for the appearance of day/night transition, and this is impossible as far as I know.

Hey davey, concerning the Hi res sky mod in the D/L section, why are there 20 duplicate mips for the sunny sky? If the sky doesn't transition why not just have one? I'm just trying to better understand this topic. Maybe it would be possible to have a transition. I know there is movement in the big screen in the middle of certain tracks, if one could control the speed of the transition... why not?

You could probably use the blimp movement to make the clouds move, but I don't think you could animate the sky to darken...

Yeah, that's because someone edited nr2k3 to allow for that....
