I also am an offline racer. And it is great to follow the NASCAR season and race the same tracks each week. Sure adds to the whole NASCAR experience.

There are several things about NR2003 that I like.
1)The tracks in the game are detailed nicely.
2)You can build your own cars & pit crew.
3)You can alter the stats of the cars (make drivers you don't like slow).
4)I don't usually race on it, but it is fun to watch other drivers race.
5)I do find building fictional cars easy to do on NR2003.
6)Drivers that can be field-fillers have all stats of 0-100.
7)When fictional cars do run (the ones I make), things on the track do seem to get funnier than realiatic. Example: Poking fun at another driver.
8)I may not me a good car designer but I enjoy the cars I make.
9)You can race against some of your Music, T.V. or movie people by putting them in a car (I'd perfer building cars for them).
10)You can bring your own pictures you have on your computer into the game (putting on your car or crew).

There isn't anything about NR2003 that I don't like. I started with the very first NASCAR Racing and have gone through all of the different versions and updates and NR2003 is by far the best. I've also tried the "other" games and none of those even come close.

I could only imagine how good it would be if FIRST RACING or IRACING... whoever you want to call them didnt kybosh every mod out there... If they could have embraced that aspect of the whole NR2k3 community, and how it made the game stay around for this long... They along with ALL of us would have benefited from the designs that could have been made.

I like to watch as the sim continues to evolve... It always amazes me how the new year templates, tracks, updates, and paint schemes are created by the talented people in this community.
