I just got my first IRacing win! I started 2nd of 11 at South Boston and ran second pretty much the whole race, but I was able to keep the leader in my sights. Then with 4 to go he got tangled up with some lappers and I avoided the mess for the win. Right place at the right time. Just my 6th IRace! When do I get an irating BTW? It was also my first incident free race, and my rating jumped up to 2.80.

You have an iRating is just isn't visible. iRacing doesn't want Rookies to focus on it, instead they want drivers to focus on getting acclimated to iRacing system and being safe. You will be able to see it when you get your D License.

That makes sense. Thanks for the info.
Also, is the safety rating based solely on the number of incidents? Like if I lead every lap and win without incident OR if run very slow in last and avoid all incidents is my safety rating the same in both cases?

Safety rating is solely based on corners per incident and iRating is based solely on performance.

Just got my first legit win in my second start at Lanier. I started 6th and passed everyone cleanly on speed. Got to the lead with 7 to go.

somebody's having fun... WTG

Thanks, I am! Just lead all 40 laps to go back to back at Lanier! Almost up to a 3.0 so I can run the "advanced legends." Is that just the lengends cars with an Open setup? I think I will struggle with that.

Nope, it's a little bit more than that. The Rookie Legend is rev limited at approximately 8500 RPM. The advanced legend will rev up to nearly 11000 RPM, meaning that the car is going to be a little bit tougher on traction at the preferred area of the power band. The advanced legend also has a few setup options, including fuel, spring perches, brake bias, and shocks. The advanced setups that are provided are definitely competitive, but the change in revs should provide the steepest part of the learning curve.

As for setup options, the easiest way to find out how to make adjustments is to just play around with different things. You'll always want the lowest fuel to save weight. Set it to the bare minimum for qualifying and the lowest that will allow you to run 42 laps for race. The rest, I would just recommend making an adjustment, evaluating it, setting the setup back to baseline, and then making a different adjustment.

iRacing will slowly push you into setup options as you progress up the ladder, which is the main reason the legend has such few options. It also helps to provide a decent sense of a fixed setup environment, but it still provides an area for personal preference.

Great information, Thanks marcus!
