I still think that the whole ''correlation = causation'' thing with the wing and the spoiler started because people were looking for an excuse to get rid of it. And somehow, NASCAR bought into it even though they said the hypothesis was very hard to replicate. I guess every NASCAR journalist suddenly got a degree in Pseudo-Physics the second Newman's car went up in the air. It was just a bandwagon effect, but there's no helping it now, no matter how much the theory reeks of completely stupid BS.
