lol @ all the f00s saying this race sucked. Sure they couldn't pass but it was a hell of a lot better than that follow the leader for 100 laps at dega crap from a few years ago. Crazy finish as usual can't believe Jeff made it through the mess during the last two wrecks. Any race is a good one when Johnson suddenly no longer has a chance to win. Great saves by Hamlin, Burton and The Beak too.

That is rather disrespectful to the Harvicks, Ryan.
They have every right to give the baby the name they want him to have.

Of course they have that right. Just like we all have the right to express our opinions.

When people come into these threads constantly complaining about the racing week after week, nobody accuses them of being disrespectful to NASCAR. Thats their opinion.

Or how about when people post in the paint scheme thread talking about how ugly a particular car is. And some even take it to the extent of "that person should be fired!". I dont see anyone accusing them of being disrespectful to the designer.

Isnt that the whole point of having a forum, to discuss topics and opinions? I dont understand how everyone is entitled to their own opinions EXCEPT when it comes to Harvick's baby's name.

Sorry if that sounded harsh, as its not meant to be. And I certainly dont want to turn this into a discussion about baby names. Just making a valid point that its a bit of a double standard.

I'm yet to understand your reasoning of thinking like this. So the racing is better when they can't pass compared to a package where there were 50+ lead changes and patience was the reason for single file racing? Sounds like backwards reasoning. This package they have now is not racing, it's waiting. All the RCR guys couldn't get up front because of the current package they have because they were overheating in a regular pack. That's disappointing. In fact, Gordon got wrecked at Dega for the exact same reason. Get rid of the temp rules and drop the spoiler even more to decrease the drag even more, that will help.

Great news! Saturday's 400 was the highest rated July Daytona race since 2008!

Also the race was shown on truTV along side TNT... weird.

Smoke docked 6 points, Dillon's crew chief and car chief suspended until July 25th

Dillon lost 6 more points so he is -8 now

I fail to see how that penalty will affect him at all seeing as he's basically guaranteed to make the Chase at this point.

6 points under the current point system is roughly equal to 12.75 points under the old system, not really all that much.

IMHO this being the 3rd time that team has got caught cheating this year they're lucky that they are allowed to even score Driver & Owner points for the rest of the season.


The #18 NNS team was also found to be too low after the race and were penalized 6 Owner points (no driver points because the driver does not score points in this series) & whatever monetary/probation they handed out.
