So Ferrari were supposed to unveil their 2012 F1 car today, but.....

Maranello, 2 February –Special conditions call for special measures. Unusually, there has been so much snow falling on Maranello these past few days that, this afternoon, Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso each had a special vehicle to get around in. They were the first two examples of the new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, the quickest and most powerful Jeep ever built. The cars were handed over to the Scuderia Ferrari drivers by Beth Peretta, Director Marketing and Operations SRT Brand and Motorsports, Chrysler Group LLC.

The two cars had a special trim, bringing some exclusive styling details and the unmistakeable Rosso Corsa colour which is a distinguishing feature of the cars from the Maranello marque. The two Grand Cherokke SRT8, personalised for the Scuderia Ferrari champions are the first of the new high performance version of the Jeep flagship to hit Europe, where it will go on sale this summer.

“We are excited and proud to be able to hand over the exclusively personalised “Ferrari-style” versions of the most powerful and fastest Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 of all time to two of the most talented drivers in the world,” said Beth Peretta. “We are sure Fernando and Felipe will feel perfectly at home at the wheel of these cars that take styling cues from Ferrari with Rosso Corsa bodywork and that represent the pinnacle in terms of performance for the Jeep brand. Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 offers all who love driving, a unique combination of the amazing capacity of the Jeep on road and track, with the pinnacle of personalised style and technology.”

I already hate the 2012 season. Oh my word, if McLaren could get it done why can't ANYONE else???

Ferrari F2012:

Force India VJM05:

I think I might be sick. Like I said, going to be a long season. Oh and HRT has confirmed Narain Karthikeyan as their second driver. Not that anyone cares.

Not that it was in question, but I'll definitely be rooting for Mclaren again this year. I couldn't bring myself to root for something so ugly.

Well, of all the ugly beasts so far this is the least ugly, thanks Lotus. This makes me think McLaren might be in trouble.

Beautiful car for one of the coolest Teams (besides Red Bull) in F1. I really hope they have success in 2012, also because of Kimi.

After the horrid look of the 2009 cars I didn't think F1 cars could get any uglier,I was so wrong. (n)

Ok, so they basically look like angular versions of the outgoing Dallara Indycar with the wing well below the nose. Yet everyone loved that pimply mosquito...

I have the strangest feeling McLaren are either going to be geniuses beyond comprehension or going to have a tough 2012...

Red Bull and STR aren't awful compared to the other platypuses. This now leaves Mercedes, Williams, Marussia and HRT as the only teams to reveal their cars.

McLaren's unique intake system didn't hurt them at all last year...I see that nose keeping them at least the top 3 this season.

"Jenson Button, Your 2012 Champion,"...it just has that ring to it haha.

Someone beat F1 with an ugly stick. Then backed the ugly truck into everything but the McLaren.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the Williams FW34. Shame it's not going to take any tiaras.

Congratulations Williams!

Testing times from Day 1 @ Jerez. Keep in mind people before you start proclaiming that Raikkonen is about to eat the field alive like they're made of ice cream, that test sessions (especially this first one) tend to not be totally reflective of how the car is. Some teams are still checking components and making sure the car works as needed.

Unofficial Times
01 Raikkonen Lotus E20 1:19.670 75 laps
02 Di Resta Force India VJM05 1:19.772 101 laps
