2012 Preseason Thunder

Well, this is it. Daytona testing starts tomorrow and once again, I'll be making the set. It'll be easier this year since there wasn't a prior test (Like the December 2010 tire test). So I assume there will be roughly 40 individual cars with some variants. The set itself will be in 2048 resolution with Aussie's 1024 pit crews from NNR. and I will not make a 1024 version, converting last year's BR10 set to BR11 was a pain enough going from 1024 to 2048. I will be (hopefully) completing each car in numerical order, or in order of appearence.

Now in addition to the coverage starting at 9AM, I will be checking motorsport.com and like last year I'm going to need people's help with pictures.

If you'd like to do a car, I have no problem with that. Just mind the list of those cars that are either done, already taken, or in progress.

I suggest doing pit crews in 512X512 as doing it in 1024X1024 will cause significant lag if you have pitcrews on.

I'll just import the crews in-game, then they will shrink down to 512x512.

Thunder, Thanks for painting the Daytona Testing set once again. I do enjoy seeing the test cars being painted. I'm sure at some point tomorrow that Jayski.com will have a list of cars and drivers that are down there testing. Also you might want to check Daytona's Facebook page for pictures as well. I did post a message in the NASCAR Discussion forum asking if anybody was going to testing if they could take some pictures. I haven't seen any responses yet but hopefully you get something from that. I also saw all 3 RCR test cars in the 2012 paint scheme thread along with the #48. I also saw the 2 Petty test cars on their facebook page.

Sorry for the lack of reply updates guys, all the car flats are done. I will start importing them into the game in the morning (It's 2:30am for me). So look for the set to be released sometime Saturday Afternoon.
