Cup race is on my birthday. Huh, pretty cool. And I share birthdays with Matt Kenseth and Chuck Norris, which is really cool!

I honestly believe that Dale Jr will win. Has he ever been dominant at Vegas? No, but last year, he lead 70 laps and had a great car, just couldn't hold it together. If he qualifies up front, or uses some pit strategy to get up front, I think he can be a contender to win. If he continues this streak of good races at tracks he's not normally good at, and stays hot at his good tracks, he can be a Cup Championship contender.

Well, I was saving up for going to the Vegas race this year, but it now looks like I will not be able to go until next year (work comes first).

No. There is nothing to talk about other than who is and isn't going.

It happens every week though. By Wednesday at the latest. Even that's too early since cars don't even hit the track until the next day

I'm kind of surprised to see Reed back with Petty but I'm glad he's in a competitive ride.

Noticed on the Nationwide entry list that Brendan Gaughan is driving a 2011 Chevy for RCR, which would be the Impala. I'd be surprised if the team actually showed up to Vegas with an Impala, but it's a little strange that a well-funded organization like RCR wouldn't have a full fleet of Camaro's, regardless of how new they are.

The chassis was built in 2011 but the body will be a Camaro.

Looking forward to the test/practices tomorrow. Wondering just how fast the speeds will be with the Gen-6 at Las Vegas and if drivers can actually pass without too much hassle.

Just going for the Cup race this time but gonna go have some fun on Saturday once we get there. Went back in '09 for my 16th birthday, albeit a month early, and had an absolute blast. Even got to meet my favorite drive Ryan Newman as well as Casey Mears and Sam Bass (y)

Weather Concerns for Fast Friday (Credit to Jayski):

Weather could be an issue Friday at Las Vegas Motors Speedway. The Weather Channel calls for a 60% chance of rain with a high temperature of 55 degrees. The hourly forecast calls for the greatest chance of rain coming in the moring, with the odds decreasing in the afternoon. Cup practice is scheduled to start at 9:00 Las Vegas time (noon/et) and qualifying is set for 3:40 local time (6:40pm/et). UPDATE: As of 12:00pm/etm, it's raining again at the track. Nationwide Series practice was to have been underway at this point but is obviously being delayed.(3-8-2013)
