Might tune into the Truck race in a few minutes (fingers crossed for a good race). Looking forward to just how the race tomorrow turns out with the elimination of 4 drivers from the 1st round of the Chase looming over drivers towards the bottom of the Top-16.

I fixed my post. I failed to look at the clock when I was posting and I thought that it was almost 7 PM due to how dark it was outside (overcast with occasional showers).

He's one of the most talented young drivers coming up and is flying well below the radar. He isn't getting the 'hype' of a Bubba Wallace, Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson, etc.

Question. Where did Wallace's nickname come from? I remember people addressing him as "Darrell" a couple years ago. Then the FOX guys started this "Bubba" stuff and I hear it everywhere. Super annoying.

It's been around since I've heard of him, and I think that was around 2009.

It will be interesting to see how aggressive these guys going to be today, especially at the end of the race.

He's been "Bubba" for a long time now. If you dig around you can find some forums where he's registered and he was Bubba there as well. I'm guessing since everyone called him Bubba, and that's what he likes being called, they just decided to go with it for broadcasts too. It's above the door on his truck. It's his twitter handle. It would feel awkward if they only referred to him as Darrell on the broadcasts when he is Bubba pretty much everywhere else.

Anyway, good win for Erik Jones. I wanted Bubba to get it, but I can't be too broken up about Erik pulling it off.

And yes, FS1 was pathetic at the end of that race. I'm not one to complain about commercials, but two breaks within the final 20 laps including one within the final 10 that resulted in missing roughly 4 laps of racing was ridiculous.

Do you find "Smoke" , "Big Daddy", "Six Time" or any other nicknames they use during broadcasts annoying? While yes they dont call those guys nicknames every time but they do more often than not. Its his nickname, why not call him by it if he likes it.
