I bet Roush "rents" a ride from one of the smaller teams for Trevor with the Advocare sponsor on it.

Yeley wins Better Half Dash: Kristen Yeley, the "better half" of NASCAR driver J.J. Yeley, held off the field to win the 4th annual Better Half Dash race Thursday at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The race was supposed to be a 25-lap event but was shortened due to time constraints after a caution-filled event, ending with a green-white-checkered finish after eight laps. "It feels pretty good," said Yeley. "I've been doing this for four years, so it is really special. The foundation I am racing for is really close to me heart. My dear friend lost a child this past May and my girlfriend started the foundation to raise awareness for organ donation for children."

She already has more wins than her husband has in his entire NASCAR career. Which I find astounding because for two years there was nobody in the Busch Series that they talked about more and did less. They acted like he was the next big thing, even after he lost the battle for the #11 car to Hamlin and was stuck in a junk #18 car which had like 1/6 the funding of the #11 car and gave him no shot at ever winning unless he could bring in more sponsorship. However the #18 Busch car was fantastic and he ran at the front every weed and they kept on talking about him every week but he still never won a race. And then he got fired last year and replaced by Reed Sorenson. That's when you know you're in trouble lol he's hilarious, a really nice guy, but he can't drive a stock car (even though he never got a real shot in Cup bc that #18 car was rather underfunded when he drove it, he had an excellent Busch ride and still couldn't win).

Anybody going to the race tomorrow night? I am going to CMS for the first time and was wondering if there's any pointers I could use. The only track I've been to is NHMS and I'm assuming traffic would be a wee bit worse going into Charlotte.

I'm not surprised that Bayne DNQ'ed, but I am surprised that Bayne DNQ'ed in a ROUSH car. You're kidding me. I think Jack made a horrible decision bringing this kid to Cup full time. He's only finished on the lead lap once out of nine races this year, and he can't even post a lap fast enough to MAKE the first race he starts in for Roush? Pathetic.

Gotta realize that Roush hasn't exactly been setting the world on fire this season either, I'm not surprised that he didn't make it.

I still surprised at the 6 DNQ'd I mean that's gotta hurt. Roush needs to get it together. It obviously ain't those engines it's gotta be their cars. This has been Penske's best season in years and Roush hasn't really played much into it.

Fixed ;)

But you're right about Roush needing to get things together. Two wins with Edwards sure, but even those were a stretch to get...

It was a RFR built/prepared car. It's been previously run out of the #17 stable.

At the end of the day, despite some wanting to put the blame on Roush, and some wanting to put the blame on Bayne, it needs to be evenly distributed. Its everyone's fault. And it wasn't subpar equipment compared to the other RFR teams. The big teams don't have that kind of disparity in equipment. The disparity is in the personnel and compatibility of personnel (particularly driver, crew chief, and engineers).

Its partly Bob Osbourne and his engineers fault for missing the setup, and not being able to adjust enough on it. Its partly Bayne's fault for not providing the feedback needed to get it closer, as well as possibly adjust his driving to mesh with the car better. And it's partly RFR management's fault for not providing the necessities to make the race - whether it be the right personnel combinations, adequate time and data to prepare, or anything else along those lines.

Its actually not as bad at CMS (at least not the eight times I've been there). In Loudon, everyone is funneled in and out of the track via two-lane roads, so its the ultimate bottle neck. Whereas at CMS, you have the seven-lane route 29 to get in and out, and they adjust the lanes accordingly (often providing 5-6 lanes coming in, and then going out after).

Also, if you have time the day before or after, HMS is right down the road from CMS (you take a left right before CMS at the four-way intersection). They have an awesome museum with a bunch of cars and all kinds of stuff to see. Its an amazing place.

Tire issues tonight. These are the same tires that will be run tomorrow on the Cup cars.

Ok just lost a bit of respect for DJ. How can you blame McClure for that wreck?? He's on the outside of 3 wide. Dillon is behind him. He bumps the 14 out of the way to make it 4 wide and it's the 14's fault because he's trying to make the dogleg? "He pulled down." I call total bull.

McClure blew a tire. Really no blame to place anywhere

Yeah they just said that. But this was when we didn't know that's what happened. It was just an appearance of DJ trying to pin the blame away from Dillon. Just the way it sounded

Wasn't paying attention to what he said. I am always the first one to blame a Dillon, trust me lol

And wow Regan Smith and Chase Elliott battling for the lead. Last time I saw Smith he was on jacks on pit road.

It's not that big of a deal in the long run. I seem to remember Greg Biffle DNQ'd for his first Daytona 500 in a cup car.

I think that was the year he won the BGN title in the Grainger car.

Biffle's been moderately successful in the years since...

It took Kyle Busch 121 laps to get the lead. :-O

That's the last post in this thread? Guess I didn't miss a whole lot then being at work... c.c

Lets hope tire issues don't affect the Chase again tomorrow. Saw an article that Goodyear warned the teams not to run super aggressive setups. Let's hope that won't be a problem.

Also, rain may affect the race to some capacity, though indications are that it should move out before race time (hopefully - because Sunday is wetter).

Yeah, that's because Kyle Busch wasn't leading close to the end and Kyle Busch didn't win. That seems to be when Nationwide discussions go on. :p
