Many have asked me over the past few months when my premiere fictional 2015 carset for Gen6 will arrive and I'm happy to announce the wait is finally over. The next few months the unveiling of over 90+ primary driver schemes and 150+ alternate schemes will commence. Each year I try to make it better than the last and I feel this will be one of my best carsets for this series ever now that I have finally made the move to the all new Gen6 mod.

For those who have no clue what I am talking about this is a fictional series I started many years ago:

This is my personal fictional series that I have raced in for years. It has zero affiliation or correlation with any real nascar series and all the drivers are fictional. Also, when I mean years I mean literal years spanning back to the days of Nascar Racing 2 when I started it in 1997-1998. Back then this series used to be called the 'Unlimited Series'.

Each car and driver has been carefully crafted over the years both in design and driver ratings to offer some pretty unique racing. I've really enjoy racing with this series I've made from the ground up and just like real nascar silly season's happen, driver and sponsor swaps occur and drivers retire. Some of the driver names in this series were created back in 1997 and are still around. As the years have gone on each car and driver has literally formed history as the seasons go by and this carset has evolved from Nascar Racing 2, to Nascar Racing 4, and it's eventual addition in NR2003 in the early 2000's. I'm not one to make assumptions but it's fair to say this is quite possibly the longest running Nascar Racing fictional carset ever. It's been going on 16-17 years and I plan to keep it going.

Year 18 is about to begin and the run for the Championship is going to be bigger than ever with old stars making their possible exit and new ones from the Autodesk series joining in.

Consider this thread a 'Jayski' for all my paint schemes on this series if you will.

Traditionally I always start out painting the #21 Miller car in my series ever since this driver started back in the series in 2001. Not sure why but I just like to keep the random tradition alive I suppose.

I always like a Bud Car that is primarily Red. This is not to say I don't have fun with alternate colors (if you've seen my past Bud cars) but the primary one for me has to be red.

A new driver to a series with her modified paint scheme from my Autodesk series. I added a bit more detail to this once to make it a bit more fierce with the awesome looking Gen6 car body.

Just like the Bud car I like to have a mix of black and yellow for my Pennzoil cars on the primary paint scheme. I've had a more traditional scheme for this car for many years but decided to try something a little more wild for the first year Gen6 is in this series. Besides, if I am not making some wild outlandish scheme I think you all might think I've lost it since all I know is how to make wild schemes ha. This car will have many alternate color schemes I can assure you.

Appreciate the thought however its not really a public offline series, just my personal offline series where I have the roster all set. I mainly don't want it to become where I am painting cars for everyone else and not myself anymore.
Okay, I understand, hope to see this carset done, but wait... Mystical painting on a mod from the correct year?

Holy moly. The Pennzoil and Miller are just... *Starts fangirling*

Great job, love your schemes. Can't wait to see the rest. Will these be released as a set like the previous ones?

I paint this series in batches so instead of seeing 1-2 cars there will be breaks in time and then a flood of paint schemes to reveal. Here is batch #2:

Always had a #42 in the field since this series started with the same driver. Happy with how the base turned out on this one. I had no idea what the base would look like until I got in Photoshop, all I know is I wanted something different from 2014 season.

One of my favorite drivers and I like Tide so I always try to make something new each year, I might keep this scheme for more than a season. Happy how it turned out.

The non-scoop hood version:

This driver is in their 2nd season of the series so no more rookie stripes. Primary sponsors changed from ATI to Amazon.com now as well:

Another new sponsor to the series, Jack in the Box. Wanted to keep the red and white theme on the whole car.

2 car team that has been in the series for many years. Zune may not exist anymore but that is what I like about fictional carset and series. I do not have to abide by the rules of continuity to real series at all. Big change in this 2 car team is the switch from always being Chevy to Honda now.

10 drivers done ... only like 80+ to go!

My god, I wish I had a fourth of the inspiration for fictional's as you do, haha. Anymore when I paint something I just state at the template like "I have no idea what I'm even doing anymore." Your cars are some of the best I've seen. Amazing, AMAZING work, bud.

thanks =)

In my head once I know what a driver will use for a primary sponsor I just get a ton of ideas for colors to use and the general shape I want for a base. When I open up photoshop I never have a clue how it will turn out until I make the first shape and go from there really. Sometime I have a more general idea but I think I do best when there is no set course and I have to make stuff up as I go. Sometimes a weird shape I make with the pen tool becomes an entire base.

Are you using the 2015 BR 1024 temps, or the 2014 BER templates?

Just the BR15 temps that came with the mod when it was released. The Pontiac and Honda are of course my own creations minus the few Toyota pieces like side skirts and such. Credits for everything used or made will always be in my first post of a thread in credits section =)

As for why I went with bullring over BER is the bullring 15 were guaranteed to work with new mod (obviously) so didn't have to deal with any compatibility issues.

Question: What is your guy's opinion of the scoops on the hood of the Pontiac template I made? Should I keep them or remove them and adjust the hood logos accordingly to match a hood without scoops?

I've always liked the way they looked on the race cars back when I panted on BR12 for example. Think it looks pretty slick and still looks nice on Gen6. I'm mainly asking though since I'm considering removing them to get more real estate on the hoods. They don't look awful with them gone either, but not sure what to do ... Whatever I decide to do if I do go without them I've only painted like 5-6 Pontiacs so far. So going back and doing a quick revise won't be too painful now. I just have to turn off some layers and resize/adjust hood logos a bit and then re-render.

Since it is hard to imagine what it looks like without them I've temporary added above the tide car with a 'non-scoop' version to compare and see if it looks better or worse. Let me know what you all think :)

Please keep them. It's a unique feature of your sets that I would miss if you removed them. Plus it sort of looks odd to not have them, looking at the Tide car as an example.

you make some good points. Yeah I was just worried they were taking up too much space but I guess they are not really as much as a hinderance as I thought,

Your work is so good Mystical. I know that each car varies but what is the average time that it takes you to paint a car? The quality of your work is awesome and you seem to get them done so quickly.
