Its been about 3 months but batch #6 is finally here. It didn't take me 3 months to pant just 10 more cars (could have done that in like 2 days) but rather only having 2-3 days off from work in the span of 3 months kinda takes your free time away from hobbies. I'm nearly out of the woods and finally had a day off so wrapped up this batch at last. In a few weeks from now the flood gates for tons of paints will be coming in continuously once again. Well time to get back to it, here is the next round of cars painted for my series, all of these are drivers in division 2.

This driver has been in the series with Blender on their hood since they started. Made the paint scheme more flowy this time around from previous years.

She's never been a top driver and this year may be when Gatorade parts ways after the season but for 2015 at least they will stick around. There are no other current teams/drivers they feel comfortable moving over to yet so its kinda one last season effort to improve or find new sponsorship for this driver and team. New design made for this years car as well.

Having an 'ok' rookie season last year the stripes are off and expectations for this team to do even better is in view. The paint scheme is heavily modified from the older BR12 mod but the color palette used is very similar still.

This driver showed some small moments of greatness last year and with that Napa took interest to sign on for a year. The last team Napa was with (#5 car) is now gone both driver and team after being in the series since 2005. The #5 is now a different team/driver so Napa had to find a new car. I wanted a different design since its for a new car but from previous years kept a similar 'feel'. Here are a few of the Napa schemes from the past (here and here) and below is the new one.

Some are probably thinking Denny Hamlin right now with FedEx but the truth is I've had a FedEx car in my fictional series well before FedEx ever entered Nascar scene on a race car. When UPS was really big back in the day I wanted FedEx present as well since it made a good contrast for my series (and I like variety in sponsorship). This is the first season that FedEx will be on a different team and driver. The previous one who drove the sponsorship for so many loyal years has parted with this series and she's stepped down into the Autodesk Series. FedEx wanted to stay in the ultimate series though (Armory Digital Cup) so it had to find a new team. I took inspiration of base the design and colors off of the website design FedEx currently has. I wanted something unique for this new driver. They started last year and had a lucky win at road course but overall have a lot to work on still. If a better team/driver comes along in the future FedEx may jump ship so this driver has a lot to prove in his 2nd season of the series to convince FedEx to stay. For those wondering, no, this is not the only color scheme for FedEx I plan to do. This base has a ton of potential for other FedEx color choices which you will see later when I work on alternates.

One of the larger Ford teams that has been in the series from nearly the beginning. This team has struggled over the years to really produce results but things remain hopeful with the new season and Gen6 cars. A new amped up design for the 44 Hoover car this season.

This driver has had this similar design since his career began. I kept the design similar to previous years only molding what needed to change to fit the Gen6 body. Its a simple design that just feels right when on the track and brings a bit of nostalgia in my series when I see it around me on the track. Its probably not nostalgic to anyone else but I've seen this design in my races for years now so it something I dont want to change just yet. This is the oldest render from many many years ago I still have, but yeah it's been around through the series quite long: here.

Amoco doesn't actually exist anymore (they merged with BP) but that is why I do fictional series. Don't have to worry about old cool sponsors I've used on cars for years going away because its no longer 'realistic'. Made a new design for this ever faithful 1 car team that has been in the series since early 2000's. Never had amazing runs and usually a back to mid pack driver but at least for now one more guaranteed season to go.

A new rookie driver that wasn't even in the Autodesk series. He'll have his work cut out for him since he didn't have any experienced gained from the exciting and rather competitive 2015 Autodesk series that many up and coming rookie drivers got to partake in. Valvoline is back as primary sponsorship for a team and a new design as well.

One of the rookie drivers in the Autodesk series that nearly clenched the 2015 championship and had multiple wins. Everyone expects this team to really do some good stuff. The design I made from his autodesk car was transformed over to the Gen6 for this series. He's a new fan favorite that will probably have an iconic car design in the field for years to come if things go as planned for his team and the skill hes already shown on the track. Only time will tell.

Well that is all I have for now. Sorry it took nearly 3 damn months for more designs, that was not my plan. But when you find out real life career is taking over and they need you literally every day until a product is close to shipping you just gotta put aside your NR2003 painting addiction and do work lol. The next batches are gunna come much sooner and at a more rapid pace now that the storm of life has passed for me. Expect this series carset to be wrapped up with at least all primary cars painted before November ends. I plan to go into full drive in a few weeks from now when I take a hiatus from work for a few months and do 'work' (aka focus on hobbies/family/rest lol).

oh, and for those counting the main post has updated roster, at 44 cars now. If this was a normal set it would probably be close to done, but its not. 2 divisions which have roughly 45+ cars each so not even halfway yet!

Awesome paints as always. Question though, what font did you use on the 44?

Its called GoudySans BlkIt BT, I've used that font for the car numbers on that particular ford team for years. Always looked good for it. Its of course a heavily modified font with my own colors/strokes around it. You can see the same font used on the 40 and 41 cars a few pages back in this thread as well to see the differences I did with it for colors.

Yeah, I remember seeing it on the 40 as well; I very well may have the font as I have around 3000-4000 fonts hanging around lol.

Yeah I made a onenote page for myself with all the different fonts I use for race car numbers along with a preview of #'s 1-0 so I know what they look like if I ever forget.

Its been awhile since the last update. All my resources and time have been 100% allocated to finishing/building tracks this past month so I've not been painting much. I took a quick break however to get batch #7 done since I needed to remind myself why I am even building tracks: for fictional series like this one.

One of my teammates car. It it very similar to the scheme in the Autodesk series just slightly adjusted. After this season the team will dissolve so where this driver and sponsor goes is anyone's guess. But for at least this season one last ride with Elgato to make some good runs and gain attention from other teams. When Armory Digital Motorsports dissolves it will sell the #07, #07, #17, and #77 cars to the highest bidder (one package). So there may be a #07 in the future but it won't be the same team or driver in it. Pontiac manufacturer is confirmed to stay though since the car body resources are there to continue working with. So why is this successful team I created back in 96' that has a combined 5 Championships going away? Well find out when I post the #17 paint scheme (my driver). It'll be the last car I post before I move to painting alternate schemes in this series.

This is the first time this car and driver will have a different sponsor on the hood. Since its beginning it was always Xbox but after losing the Microsoft/Xbox sponsorship at the end of last season the car has a whole new look. Some fans of this driver and team are unhappy with the change but the #3 team has never really had a breakout moment in his entire season since joining in 2005 so it's no surprise Xbox sponsorship left for another team.

This driver only had his rookie season last year and was driving for Chevy in #29 with Lowe's on the hood. It was a pretty good combo that could have gone places but this rookie left that team to join a new 1 car Toyota team with another prestigious sponsor: Steam. While he didn't have the worst rookie season last year there were some pretty bad races too but thats expected of a rookie. Will be interesting to see if he can bring this team to success with all the money backing it and his skill as a driver that has yet to really shine most believe.

A new underdog team of last year had a surprising run. In the regular season she had 1 top 5 and 4 tops 10's finishing 19th. That may not sound impressive but the top 20 (out of ~50 cars) in the regular season remember in each division automatically enter the Championship division. She backed it up in that division where competition is even harder with another top 5 and 4 top 10's finishing 30th in the points. That is 30th out of 97+ drivers that competed and this was her rookie season. So for a new team doing that well it was extremely promising. Back again with Aquafresh and slight changes to the scheme to fit the Next gen car everyone is looking forward to how this driver does in year 2.

This team has been improving each year slowly but surely. The design of the base is very much the same from the BR12 mod minus adding a more gritty texture to the yellow areas to give it that construction feel.

One of the rookie drivers from the Autodesk series now has their sponsor and team transferred to the big leagues. One of the many new rookie drivers everyone is looking out for. The scheme is very similar since I designed the Wii U base back on the BR12 mod when another driver used to drive the car.

A 1 time champion in the series that has yet to repeat but had many wins and close calls with a 2nd title many seasons throughout. Finishing 2nd in the regular season last year with 2 wins many thought he'd come out a big contender in the Championship series. Unfortunately it didn't go so well with 0 wins and a flop 15th place in standings at the end of the season. Maybe this team has lost their touch with so much new competition they will never gain it back but only time will tell. The design of the car remains very similar from last season, just adjusted for the Gen 6 mod.

Ever since entering the series in 2007 she's been a mid pack runner but Wacom sponsorship has ever faithfully been on the hood and continues to support the team as each year they slowly improve. The design changed quite a bit this year but has the same color palette as previous years.

Not really a top team and paint scheme last season was very simple for the rookie team. Now in season 2 an all new paint design and hopes to have a better season with this low end team with nowhere to go but up.

Similar to the Yelp car this is another low end team that had a so so season last year. A new paint scheme and more experience from the previous rookie season will give this team more confidence than ever to rise to the occasion.

Last year this new 4 car team that was all rookies had everything to prove and nothing to lose. This car specifically didn't have the best season and missed all the races but 2 and had an average finish of 32nd so you probably don't even remember this Taco Bell car from last year. Well it can't get any worse this season right? Hoping to enter more races and compete more is the goal this season. The design has drastically changed this year as well from white to a black scheme, that isn't to say there won't be an alternate white scheme though because I love making alternates.

If there was any rookie driver who got in the worst wrecks in the Autodesk series this would be the one. For every time he finally had a good run some wreck out of his control would usually come sweeping in and mess his day up. One of the teams that had planned to move to the Armory Digital Cup series after the Autodesk season ended should have reconsidered possibly. Only getting in 6 races he finished 57th out of 58 unique drivers and had an average finish of 28th. Who knows, maybe luck will turn around in this series but it won't get any easier. The John Deere design from the Autodesk car was changed slightly to fit the Gen 6 car and I added a grass texture to the green section as well.

Ever since Walmart began sponsoring him a few years ago the team has slowly improved. The design of the car is very similar to my BR112 base but I added curves and made it better fit the spacing for the logos of Walmart.

So far we stand at 57 cars completed for the roster. A good 40+ have yet to make their appearance still.

I always love seeing fictional series. And this one has been around so long. I'm shocked you even still have motivation to do it.

As long as I have the ability to paint fictional schemes I will never get tired of it really. Always something new to design and its the carset I use to race with in NR2003 so it keeps me plenty motivated to make a new one for each season.

Batch #8 at last. Now that I finished the tracks my priority is back to getting this carset done at last so I can move on to other ones.

Still a new driver in the series they didn't have a good or bad rookie season last year. In most ways that is a good thing as this year they'll have more experience than the previous one to have better finishes. She finished 30th in the Division 1 season so failing to get in the top 20 was eliminated after the 20 race regular season. However the 2 top 5's and 3 top 10's showed there is potential for this new season to get a top 20 in points possibly to become one of those 43 drivers to get in the Championship division. I took the same scheme from last season that I made and transferred it over.

There is not much to be said about this driver since he only had 2 starts last season. Part of a new 4 car team last year that was all rookies this car didn't see much success last year due to not getting in a lot of races at all as mentioned above. The paint scheme from last year was simple and this one I added more black into the scheme.

Having a semi good rookie season last year AMD signed on starting this year with hopes for some great finishes and possibly some wins too. In his rookie season he had 4 tops 5's and 8 tops 10's in division 2 regular season. Everyone thought he would be a pretty good contender and possibly the rookie of the year moving into the Championship division. Instead he managed to only get 1 top 5 and finished 30th in the Championship division, another rookie finished higher and clenched the rookie of the year award (#47 car). The best of the best make it into the final division and it really shows the contrast between regular season races and the championship season qualifiers. Having the more prominent funding with the sponsors will definitely help this 1 car team be able to have more power to be even more of a front runner than last season.

The final paint scheme to reveal of my teammate's primary schemes: The #7 has been the longest running teammate with me. He started back in 1999 and has been my teammate in the #7 ever since. While sponsors have shifted slightly over the years (was a fictional sponsor called 'Optical Frequency' in the early years) Pepsi has been the main sponsor of this car for over a decade easily. With 2 championships and multiple wins he's definitely a driver that knows how to be competitive. Unfortunately for him and my entire 4 car team at Armory Digital Motorsports the last few seasons have been disappointing (more on the overall team when I post my car). He finished 9th in division 1 with no wins and in the championship division despite getting 2 wins he wound up 14th place in standings due to most races just having mechanical issues or getting in wrecks. To put it lighty the golden age for his career on this team and the team in general is sadly over. While the 2015 season has not started and this team disbanding after the season he already has a confirmed ride with Peters Motorsports starting in 2016. That is the team with the well known #20 Bud car. It'll be the first time for that team's history it will move to a 4 car team operation. The sponsor Pepsi and the car number will not be transferring so the details have not been worked out yet. All that is known is in 2016 things will look different indeed but he has a confirmed ride at least. But before 2016 comes its one final season for this team and maybe another championship before all is said and done.

As for the paint scheme itself I've always liked Pepsi with a flame kind of design so the past few years its been just that. I recreated the scheme from last season and I think it looks even better on the Gen6 mod now. While I sadly lost all data years ago from all the Nascar Racing 2 paint schemes this #7 car has been around for a long time as I said going as far back as 1999 (literally). I'm sure if I boot up Nascar Racing 4 (the oldest paint scheme records I have) I could get a screenshot of the very old and crappy schemes from then. But I managed to find this mid 2000's scheme and re-render it for this post to show the old Optical Frequency logo. Also fun fact, the decklid has the old Armory Digital logo on it that was made in early 2000 and lasted until 2008 when I redesigned it. Just before that year the series was called the 'Unlimited series' as I mentioned before.

Back again for his 17th season one of the few remaining original drivers thats been in the series since day 1. While he's never won championship and had minimal wins he's always been in ford and minus his early career, Office Despot has been the sole sponsor on this car. My fondest memory of this driver goes way back in Nascar Racing 2 when the lead cars wrecked and he came home to win at Talladega to get his first win ever. He probably has a few more seasons left before retiring. Until then a Office Depot #27 will be seen in the field. For this year I redesigned the scheme again to look nicer on Gen6 but kept it simple as its always been with a traditional red, back, and white color palette.

Having a good rookie season in the Autodesk series this driver is planning to be a great competitor in this series. With Shell hopping on board which sponsored him in the Autodesk series only time will tell how this rookie does. The paint scheme in his rookie season for Autodesk series is vastly different from this one. The autodesk scheme was more retro styled while this one is more modern and detailed.

Another rookie who didn't have much luck in the Autodesk series transferred over to the big series like many other rookie teams have. I redesigned the scheme for this mod but Georgia Pacific is still with this driver as his career begins in this series.

This rookie was one of the drivers in the Autodesk series that had a few good runs that show his potential. Energizer is back and I redesigned the scheme for this series compared to his autodesk one. I made it more look like a burst of light compared to the orange light lines previously.

While all the other rookie teams had previous experience in the Autodesk series this one is jumping straight into the big leagues. With no prior history he joins his teammate (the #84 I posted earlier in this thread) going head first into what will hopefully be a promising opening season for him. Logging laps, getting cars to the finish line, and not busting up equipment is the goal. This series is the top tier of all my fictional series so its seldom unsponsored cars are present (but it can happen). Even the newest of the newest and lowest of the lowest teams in this series still can get some form of sponsorship due to the fact of how big the platform is. So thats why the sponsor BenQ has signed on with this team for 1 year to see how it goes.

Another driver that started in 1999 he is by far the most well known driver for having a hot head and being extremely aggressive. Fans love seeing him get into the fray and sometimes even taking some other cars out in very aggressive moves. Heck even I've had him shove me out of the way sometimes. With an aggression driver rating of 100 you can bet he's not joking around when push comes to shove. Originally was the driver for the #25 home depot but then he left for a new 1 car team on the #35 Haas/Sunoco. Sunoco has been the primary sponsorship for several years now and he's no longer a 1 car team. He became the 3rd driver on the Peters Motorsport team a few years back. His improvements in racing have definitely not gone unnoticed as he's gone from just an angry driver who finished ok to still being aggressive but getting top 10's more often than not. With 4 tops 5's and 11 tops 10's in the regular season he fished 6th which was impressive. Even more impressive he finished 7th in the championship season with 1 win, 4 top 5's and 10 top 10's. Thats 7th place out of the 97 drivers that all competed in 2 different divisions and then the best 43 battling out in a final 20 races. So I'd say he's gotten much better as his career has gone on no doubt. As for the paint scheme I really ramped it up this year to give it that full sunoco color scheme adding more yellow and a checkered design on the sides.

Speaking of that #25 Home Depot team, yep its still around with the same driver that took over it when Seat left in 2006. While Hendrickson who currently drives the Home depot car has not been a top performer his improvements over the seasons has gone up still. I transferred the paint scheme I had for this car over from the BR12 mod since I liked how it looked still.

When you take out all the older veteran drivers there are 2 types left: The rookies just joining this season or drivers who were rookies last season. This driver was in the first giant wave of rookies entering the series last year and with many things learned he hopes to have an edge on all the new competition coming in this season. Target is still on board but I redid the paint scheme for Gen6 so it looks different from the BR12 mod scheme I had made for it.

Another rookie that was a rookie in the Autodesk series. His team and sponsors are transferring over like many others into the big series. I completely redid the citgo base and am much happier with how it looks compared to the design I had on the autodesk car. I really wanted to incorporate more solid blues, reds, and oranges into the base and feel I nailed it now. Citgo is just one of those classic sponsors and I spent much time and care trying to get it to look nice on the gen6 model.

Only his 2nd season in the series the rookie stripes are off and Microsoft is the main sponsor for this 3 car team. Windows 10 is the main sponsor of the #30 this season. Its not the first year Windows has been on a car though. Going as far back as 2007 with windows vista there has been Microsoft sponsorship but that was on a now defunct team so they went looking for another more promising team to sponsor. I made the design based off of the blue and black windows 10 background design basically.

Since starting in 2009 Gamestop has been the primary sponsor for this car. Not having a ton of success in races he's slowly gotten better over the seasons though. I took the design I made from the previous season and transferred it over to gen6, I really like the way it looks on the new model.

Part of that team that is getting sponsored by Microsoft this is where the xbox one brand went after leaving the #3 team as I mentioned in a previous post. The team is still very young but the potential is there to become one of the competitive powerhouses in the sport. I made an all new xbox one base design for this car to look better on the gen6 model.

This is an interesting one, a 1 car team that has obtained Goodwrench for 1 year contract. Why you ask? Because of the driver. The driver for this car has been in the series since 2000 and was the driver of the #22 Goodwrench car for over a decade. After that long run the car # and team was sold leaving him without a ride and no more Goodwrench. In the previous seasons he had been driving for smaller teams and with Goodwrench leaving the current #22 it was a perfect opportunity for him to reunite with his old sponsor. It is not forever though, after this season he will be retiring from the series to race full time in the Bud Light Truck series and chances are Goodwrench with go with him too. Its his final season to make something happen. Never really had much success for being a well known driver in the field for so many years it will be strange indeed to see him missing from the roster after this season. Goodwrench has plans to stay in this series so even after he retires they will stick around. The design for this car is a nod off to all the years he's driven Goodwrench and how every year I would make a different base design with a similar structure of sharp curves using a combo of Black, Grey, and Red. You can expect many alternate color schemes from this car when I move to that phase.

Starting in 2010 when this team formed Autodesk took primary sponsorship for this car and has been there ever since. His career has not been anything to get amazed about but his team has been improving overall as each season continues. I took the design I made from last year and tweaked it to fir the gen6 model.

Well there is the massive batch #8, my biggest group of cars yet. More to come much sooner as I expect to start painting more right away. We're very close to having the complete roster of primary cars all done. Currently at 75 cars so far.
