With this entry, and assuming Joe Nemechek fields an entry which he said he is on the fence about, this will be the first time in 5 years that the Daytona 500 will have 5o entries, which is a big bounceback for NASCAR. From a recent high of 61 in 2007 the entries steadily dwindled until there were just 45 in 2013, but it looks like we could finally have 50 again. The last time there were 50 was in 2010 when 54 cars entered.

The don't tread on me symbol can represent a lot of different things, it's been around since the very early years of America....

The scheme looks okay but it's hard to tell until I see the real deal

The don't tread on me thing has been around since the American Revolution. It's known as the Gadsden flag. Seriously, as 4WideRacing, you need to calm down about it.

I think he's upset that such a patriotic American freedom symbol is representing an alcohol company. I'm pretty sure we all know what it means.

Well, trust me, I (sadly) know people who thought it's about the Ferguson protests.

IMO it is because it"s used as a symbol of the Tea Party

Let's just make sure we stay on topic folks. Nothing offensive has been written, but let's focus on the paint scheme and not on the politics.

I don't think its representing an alcohol company, its about prohibition. Moonshine goes back quite a ways and is a big part of some peoples family heritage and tradition, and theres still a lot of people who like to make it today. However, its still totally illegal to do so (unless in a licensed/regulated distillery of course), and if caught, you could be slapped with some harsh punishment.

But to keep away from the politics - I'm interested in seeing what the rest of the car looks like. I do think its pretty awesome to see a moonshine sponsor on a race car. After all, NASCAR/stock car racing was ultimately born, and evolved from 'shining.

They are 0 for 4 getting into Cup races with Kenny Wallace, Matt Crafton, and Joe Nemechek. Not sure if a road course ringer type like Marks (former Rolex series driver who mainly has driven RCs in NASCAR) will help them at finally making a race, but hey sponsorship speaks loud and clear.

Though it worked out fine for Frankie Stoddard's team back when they had Boris Said run a bunch of plate races from 2006-2010 before Frankie took full ownership and got Terry Labonte on board for 2011.

I agree that Marks is a surprising choice, but they've got the best chance they've had with the qualifying races determining their fate. It won't be easy, but they've at least got a chance if they can keep up with the draft.
