Any one heard when either BER or Outlaw Grafx might be releasing their 2048 X 2048 2015 Sprint Cup Templates? Was just wondering? Thanks

The 2014 Chevy and I believe Ford ones will transfer to the BR15 mod.

Don't know about any Camry or Charger ones.

We have some for our staff only at this time. A new Chevy, Camry and Charger. But I will let Rogue who did most of the work reply as to why they are not public. Hint show us in the thousands of downloads where we were given credit even a dozen times. LOL

I think this is a classic example as to how the community has dwindled dramatically as far as support. I never thought I would see the day where Mods are being made more frequently than the painting side of it such as updated 2015 Sprint Cup cars and 2015 updated templates.

Everyone is essentially waiting on one person to make new templates, lol. And if that doesn't happen, no one is taking the initiative to try themselves. All those hands just sitting out there waiting, lol.

My question is: Why are you asking here? Why not ask at the sites you ask about? I'd say do that and while you're there I'd suggest maybe making a donation no matter how big or small just to show some appreciation...

BTW: TMac is so right, is it really so hard to show MORE gratitude folks? Just visit the sites give them some love, say thanks with actual words, heck why not do that every time you use the darn things? Trust me the few seconds it takes to say thanks, or you rock, or I couldn't do this without your stuff, etc...could never add up to the many, many hours it takes to get a bit of shading done or make a headlight usable...

It's always been something I figured would be the respectable thing to do. Ever since I started showing my paints public years ago I always had a credits at the top for templates (my two current threads in showroom have a big fat section for credits). Heck even my carsets on my website have a credits section for where they were assembled and templates that were used.

I think people need to name or rename their templates and really everything they have with the creator info in the name or like I do, they go into folders named by site and then the file's name has the creator. I will add layers with credits into my template files so I can remember as I do the painting.

I guess I'm saying folks need to be deliberate about doing credits. If you don't make it: CREDIT!

If you don't want to credit others, then start making your own junk!

With all the resources for how-to this and that, and free paint programs like GIMP and PDN, just about anyone should be able to paint up a car nowadays. Templates are more difficult (especially the #$%^-ing shading... I swear I've lost hair over it), but some people would amaze themselves how easy it is to learn. Mastering is another thing...

Seems like a place to pose up the question since the credit thing was brought up: "Kit cars"... I paint up a base, sponsors, on a template from say, here, or BER, and post the TGA (flat) for someone to put on their own numbers/name, and I post credits for the temp, is that download likely to get pulled down or is that a safe bet?

Man, all I know is Rogue (Darren) has been doing double duty lately working on stuff in tangent with me for NR2k3 and Nascar Heat lately. That dude is one of a kind, and I for one can never repay him for all the help he's been doing for V8Mods and TMS. Wish some of what I'm saying I could say out loud and tell folks about. But Darren you 100 percent rock bud!!

If the download includes the raw template someone else made or a part of it an an editable form then I'd say no. If it's a flat TGA then you aren't offering anyone the chance to edit the original file in any way.

For example I made a Gen6 Pontiac and Honda template. I've been asked numerous times for it and declined each time. Not because I am a jerk but because I don't have the rights to hand it out. I personally made all the Honda and Pontiac parts/shading but the other parts are still Bullring Toyota pieces/shading. So until I get permission from them I cannot and will not release it. I can either: A) make rest of the template from scratch (have no desire to do that really even though I can) or B) Release my Honda/Pontiac pieces separate but it would include manual work by anyone who download it to put it on the original bullring template properly. So in the meantime they are my personal and private templates I use exlusively for my fictional carsets.

I was thinking more along the lines of what so many others do, just no numbers in TGA format. But I see the dilemma there. I dunno, always looking for something new to do when I find time between kids and school. I looked at your set Mystical, and I gotta say, I was inspired. But I don't want to hijack a thread.

On topic: I doubt the community is going to see a lot in the way of content, because (as many people said already) the work/creator ratio is completely one sided.

I do not see OGX releasing public templates any time soon, They stay for staff only. I for one am tired of spending many hours on them, too see them downloaded and then rarely credited.
It seems other templates get credit every 5 minutes, but not ours......So that is it.....Chapter closed!

@DaveO- You are a true legend brother, the same as Tmac73 at OGX, It is you guys who keep me going. Stay tuned for more work from me soon.

I have to say, while I would give credit if I ever managed to paint anything respectable (enough to post), to do something "for the credit" is pretty much what everyone in the world hates about the entertainment business. Why do we have a double standard when it is our own work compared to when someone else is looking for recognition?

I'm not sure I follow the business thing you speak of. But for credit in NR2003 related terms helps let everyone know who made what so they know who to go to see more of said content. Especially for paint schemes when people don't give credit it's hard to tell what they really did on their own. Anyone can use premade bases, numbers, and logos to make a grade A car. Once you realize the most they did was assemble a car and maybe change the colors on a base from someone who spent the hours actually making it the assembled car becomes less impressive.

Giving credit is a balance and check system. It ensues the content people are providing is their own or if it isn't where it can be found. Having people give no credit making it look like their own is simply deceptive. You are essentially taking the credit for yourself by those who spent the hours who deserve the true credit. It's not about glory or getting anything return but rather the simple 'thanks' for contributing content that people enjoy seeing or using.

As a content creator it is a hard gauge and tell if people want more of your stuff if no one knows you are even making it. Giving credit directs said traffic to the correct persons. So I can understand why Rouge is not giving the templates to the public.

I remember you stated that you make content for yourself and not for anyone else. You're just kind enough to share it while there are a rather large number of content creators who don't. I also respect your decision not to share templates you've made that use other's work unless they have given you that permission. I also believe it is the proper thing to do to give credit for work but the post pretty much sounded like "I'm taking my ball and going home because nobody recognizes that it's my ball."

I created a group several years ago that has slowly gained prominence in the circles I used to travel. I brought together two besides myself and we started something that is now known internationally and is recognized by the people we wanted it recognized by. The other major individual left for several months, vowing to quit. I kept the group together and focused when the other major players were busy. Guess who knows my role? The two other people who I asked to form it as well as two others I eventually told. Who was interviewed on international TV? Not me. Who was mentioned? Not me. So now who is mentioned when the group gets a shout out from important people in the community? Not me. I didn't care about that until I was unceremoniously removed from the group a few months before I was supposed to leave the country. Now I've been ostracized by the entire community and still hearing about my group gaining more and more? At any rate, each event this group completed took months to prepare and actual cash out of pocket to put on. So I am pretty sure I can have my opinion about making content and choosing not to share it without credit.

I'm extremely thankful to all content creators. You (Mystical) specifically have rekindled my interest in learning to paint and inspired me to do so. In the last four weeks I've learned more about GIMP and painting than I have since the first time the paint kit was released for Indycar Racing (2?). Others have inspired me to play with excel and stare at numbers and formulas despite my ever-hate for math and statistics. I've learned a lot by trying to create reasonable ratings using things like driver experience, sponsorship, team rating as well as car manufacturer. I'm incredibly thankful for these things and if somehow the internet as a whole banned me from their NR2003 content I would probably finish the next semester or two at the uni and take some free time to learn how to model and create templates. Every day I am thinking of new things for the track I started discussing at your forums and finding there's just so much to learn about everything so I can create my own content. This is specifically because of everyone who provides their own content, otherwise there would be no idea of what is possible and no way to understand the limitations.

We all know the community is what keeps the game going. I also know there are mods and tracks that are not available except to a select few. Well, that means I can't learn from those creators. I can't be inspired by them because I don't know what they are able to do and therefore I don't know what is possible and alone it would take me years and years of tinkering and toying to learn many of the things track makers know.

A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS PROVIDED CONTENT IN THE PAST, EVERYONE WHO IS CURRENTLY WORKING ON CONTENT FOR RELEASE IN THE FUTURE AND EVERYONE WHO WILL BEGIN CREATING CONTENT IN THE FUTURE FOR RELEASE AT SOME POINT.

I wrote and rewrote this 5 or 6 times just trying to get the correct idea across. I'm sure I have failed or someone will misinterpret or someone will choose to pick and choose and put words in my mouth. At this point I have learned a lot and I will continue to learn and I am thankful for the inspiration. People who choose to willingly keep secret societies can count on one less person caring about their webpage. I know that doesn't matter but when the argument is credit or finding the source, now that source has one less pipeline.
