Whoever is the designer on the 3 car should get the paint scheme of the year designer award. Man these schemes are sex this year.

The scheme contains over 1100+ Vet names

Okay, that explains what I thought was the faded red stripes. a little more understandable now. There is no way putting 1100 names on a car is going to look good from the stands, but still.... kind of a rough scheme.

Car has a good look, it's just missing something else behind the door number leading into rear quarter panels.

The schemes have been awesome this year. Coke 600 car was amazing, this car is amazing, all the other schemes on the 3 this year have been awesome as well. Its called awesome designing by the painter of these schemes.

I'm with you @Ajwehr , love most of the schemes the 3 has run this year. This latest one though is not very good, obviously cool to have all the veterans' names on the car but the execution isn't very good.

EDIT: That said, Roush has still been the best team as far as schemes go.

Except for the random silver, this scheme looks pretty good to me.

I've liked the majority of the 3's schemes this year, but this is a mess. If they just took the stars and stripes pattern on the fender and used that as the basis for this scheme, it would probably look great. Instead, this looks like an incoherent hodge podge of scheme ideas, slapped together with no sense of design or cohesion. No 2 elements on this car match in the slightest

And the number is just too far forward in my opinion.

Didn't even realize how bad it was until reading this. They might as well put the contingencies on the number.

Pretty sure that placement is becoming more standard. Three teams have done it this year. It gives much more room for the sponsor on the door itself

But the sponsor can't go past the b-pillar, so that reasoning still doesn't make much sense.

It may give more real estate for the sponsor but they didn't even use it. The Dow logo is hard for placement as it is.
