That image is photoshopped. Below is the real image. Someone added the 89 to the pic. If you look at the front of the 89, it has a 4 on it.

    Fact time.

It took until race 34, but Martin Truex, Jr. finally recorded a top-ten that was not a top-five with a ninth-place finish.

Penske Racing had three cars lead 40 or more laps in a race for the first time ever. They are the first team to accomplish that this year. The last time a team did this was the 2015 August Bristol race, where Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, and Carl Edwards all led laps. Joey Logano won that race and led 176 laps - Harvick led 177 today.

The last 337-lap race was last year's fall race at Charlotte. Kevin Harvick also qualified third, won the first two stages in that race, and led over 100 laps. This is the first 337-lap race at Texas - the only other 337-lap race was the 2007 fall race at Charlotte.

This is Kevin Harvick's third win from the third starting spot this season, and the second year in a row he won the fall Texas race after starting third. Harvick was also tied with Kyle Busch in both top-fives, top-tens, and wins, but has climbed ahead in all three categories. Harvick has led a ridiculous 1005 more laps than the next most dominant Ford driver, Joey Logano. Harvick has led more than the rest of his teammates combined. Hell, Harvick has led more laps than any other team combined except for Penske.

Kevin Harvick has made the final round 4 out of 5 years in the 16-driver format. Logano, who has also advanced, now has three appearances. Busch and Truex, who are likely to advance, have made three and two appearances.

Jimmie Johnson led 11 laps today, bringing his season total up to 40. Bowman and Byron have led 71 and 61 laps, respectively. Odds are, this will be the first season that Jimmie Johnson has led fewer laps than more than one of his teammates. Johnson has led or finished second among Hendrick drivers in laps led since he started running full-time.

Toyota did not lead any laps today, the second time this has happened in the last three races. It would have been the third time in the last four, but Kyle Busch led a single lap for Toyota at Talladega.

It's kinda crazy, but I found myself defending Joey Logano for the second week in a row after the race. I just haven't seen anything wrong with how he's been driving the last couple of weeks. Just a driver trying like crazy to win his first Cup title without wrecking anyone. I even had to disagree with KB on Twitter after the Martinsville race, although I'm sure some of the "opinions" were more manufacture-based than anything. Also not sure what he did to Almirola. If anything, AA can blame NASCAR for the current package that has everything so aero-sensitive that you can't even drive around a guy without possibly upsetting the car.

I know, right? Yeah, as a Logano fan, I'm probably biased, but Martinsville was just good old fashion, hard racing and yesterday at Texas, they had just restarted and he and Almirola were side-by-side; Almirola got loose underneath him and back he went. But because Joey was there, you know, it's his fault.

Regardless on how you see the moves Logano has made in the last 2 weeks, the fact remains that, regardless the reason, there are at least 2 guys with fast cars who aren't happy with him, and a few others who, after seeing those moves, won't give him an inch on the track.

If I'm a smart man playing the long game, the last thing I want to do is tick off a host of people when I'm trying to go for a NASCAR title (looks at Brad Keselowski, Logano, and even Johnson). Historically, it hasn't played out well.

Not saying he did/didn't do anything wrong, just simply stating the facts of the matter.

EDIT: Food for thought: Stewart has a history with Logano, and has made it clear he doesn't like him. I wonder what the SHR driver meeting will be like....

Yeah, but at this rate, if Logano even looks at somebody funny next week, we're gonna hear, "The #22 ain't gonna win this championship.... I'm gonna make sure of it!" Just ridiculous.

Not debating that point. Simply saying there ARE people ticked off at him. That's reality. Drivers have watched how he races people over the last 4+ years, and I think we can be sure that Logano's bid for a title is going to be more difficult as a result of his driving style; right, wrong, or indifferent, agree with his methods or not.

Yes, Dale Sr made a career out of it. He also made a lot of enemies out there during that time. However, over time, his talent even his low-key softer side earned people's respect. I think what we see is that Logano (yes he has talent) hasn't turned that corner yet, and the field is tougher and more competitive than it has been in a long time, if ever, which raises stress and frustrations.

I am a huge SHR fan, and Amirola is definitely in the wrong here. Joey didn't do anything but be there on his outside, only what he was paid to do. That is race for every position on the race track.

My #1 hope is that Kevin can win his second championship at Homestead in a couple of weeks because I believe he's earned it this year. I also hope that Joey is faster than everybody else so that none of that stupid mess is even a factor.

No. Tony has made it clear multiple times he doesn't hold anything against him anymore. They've cleared the air themselves. Besides, their only beef was five fucking years ago. It's over.
