Lap 41: We’ve talked about Ryan Wayne making his first start of 2019 but we’re yet to mention rookie Sebastian Ruiz making his first start ever in his 42 Slim Jim Ford. He currently runs in the 21st position.
Lap 49: We have a move towards the front! Joey Kraus sees an open door under Kurz for third and he will take it. Gray tries to follow for fourth but Kurz slams the door. Remington passes Ehresman for 24th.
Lap 56: Everybody is still on the lead lap so far today, Franklin out front by 2.5 now. Fogg and Althen still running in the final two spots about half a straightaway ahead of the 95. He may get them before this stage ends.
Lap 58: Robert Lillie, the third driver making his 2019 debut tonight, has had a race he’d probably like to forget. He’s got his 47 truck for JB2 running in 29th currently just ahead of the also struggling Hancock and Llamas.
Lap 63: Kunkel managed to grab the lead over Franklin and leads the field onto what should be a busy pit road. He will win the race off followed by Kurz, Kraus, Gray, and Peterson. The damage didn’t look too incredibly bad on the nose of Franklin but after a long stop he loses a lap on pit road before rejoining the field.
Lap 66: Tyler Jennings did rejoin the field, we’re hearing it was a battery issue. He will be three laps down. Along with Jennings and Franklin losing a lap, a couple of the drivers that were in the rear of the field Hancock and Althen also managed to lose one. A number of others restarting ahead of the leaders in danger of losing a lap too.
Lap 68 (Green Flag): We’re back to green, only a handful of laps before we slow down again for the stage break. Kunkel the leader into turn one couldn’t get the best start as there are some lapped trucks starting ahead of him. Kraus gets under Kurz for second.
98: "Did @Tyler Jennings' car just broke down again?"
98 CC: "Yes. Hearing from the 44 team that its a battery issue. Jennings has rejoined the race but he's now 3 laps down."
98: "Oh, crapbaskets... Add "Reliability of the No. 44 car" to the things that we have to fix in the shop after this race is over."
98 CC: "10-4."
Lap 69 (Lead Change): Lap 69, here comes car 69! Kraus takes advantage of Kunkel getting caught up top and sends his Ram truck to the lead on the bottom. Peterson has moved into the third spot as Kurz continues to drop.
