I have been hearing rumors that Richard Childress is going to open up the #3 for Austin Dillon what are your thoughts on that?
I actually think that it's alright to be used in Cup again. Yes, it is a tragedy that should be remembered, but Dale Earnhardt should be remembered for his influences on the sport, and his success, and his personality. He should be remembered for who he was, not for what number he drove. I hope no one thinks this is an insensitive opinion, as I find it very respectful that his number went unused for over 11 years, and I think it is okay for it to be brought back. Just my opinion, people are allowed to be opposed, but that's just what I believe.
A number is just a number. :-/Should not happen. What ever that man is thinking for his spoiled grandson should be shoved out the door. The #3 should be retired forever. No ifs, ands or buts. Dale Earnhardt Jr. should have the exclusive rights to that number, I don't care who the hell owns it. That number represents so much history and represents the Intimidator. Not to some young hotshot who is the team owner's family. /endrant

Not this one. At the very least the font should be changed. Everytime someone sees the number three in that familiar font, they all think "Dale". The #33 is a perfect solution. Why does the #3 have to come back now anyway? He ran the 07 and 33, but honestly, Mr. Childress, driving the #3 is so special that I don't think anyone of Dillon's caliber should control that likeness. Hell, I'm a Kyle Busch fan, I'm supposed to be stupid, right? :-/
A number is not just a number when the sport's arguably greatest driver drove it and passed away in it. It's more than a number. It's Dale. Not some young hotshot kid that thinks he's everything. My opinion. Just saying. Bash me all ya want but this is important, and I think we should all consider the meaning this number has behind it.![]()

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the #07 was because of the Jack sponsorship.
