So right now it looks like the #33 car is going to be in the top 35 after Fontana.

Fontana is supposed to be the last race for this #33 car, until Austin Dillon hops in for a race that is apparently still TBD.

What do you think will happen if the #33 car is still in the top 35 after next week? They're 30th right now & 12 points to the good, so chances are that's where they'll be.

Before the season I was thinking they would sell the points, but actually, the only Chevy team they could sell to would be Tommy Baldwin's #10, which is 36th and really doesn't need to buy the points. I don't think they would sell to a different manufacturer.

Do you think Gaughan might continue to run the races? Maybe the ride goes to Kirk Shelmerdine, who then wins every race and the championship

Childress would have to sell part of the #33 team in order to sell the points, and I highly doubt he'd do that.

Some other team will most likely take the #33's place in the top 35, like the TBR #10 car, which is trying to get into & stay in the top 35 anyway.

I could see the #74 team taking the points. They just made the race at Bristol and have an alliance with RCR now. They don't have a plan to run the whole season, but maybe the points could change that. Sorenson made the race with the team though. I don't know if they are keeping him as the driver, but if they do they might be okay without the points. Sorenson got Robby's #7 in the field plenty of times last year.

R3 Motorsports (#23) is another Chevy team outside of the top-35 but Turn One Racing (#74) seems more likely since they have an alliance with RCR and could do the races between now and when Dillon or Sadler do some races.

The most likely thing is that the #33 just disappears and fall out of the top-35 before RCR uses it again.

I dont think the top 35 thing is a concern for RCR. They shouldnt have to worry about making races on their qualifying time.

I think it would go to Tommy Baldwin #10 or if more sponsors are found the #33 will race

When Robby left to bring RGM to Cup Richard said "Robby will have a ride here waiting for him whenever he wants it".... I know politics ('specially from Chevy) may prevent this from happening but it'd be kinda cool to see the #33 become the #7 (still the RGM Dodge team) with Robby running full races until he falls out of the Top-35 (if he falls out of the Top-35).

Robby brought up how he called Dodge but Dodge hasn't called him back yet, well that's because the hauler is leaving the track so fast after lap 10 that the Dodge execs can't get the number to call... l0l If Robby wants to be the factory Dodge team for next year I think getting the points from the #33 for next week and running the Full Races until he falls out of the Top-35 is the only way he's gonna get Dodge to say "Hey ya know what we should & will make you our Factory Team in 2013".

^That would be awesome.

If RCR doesn't roll the #33 to race 6, seems likely only 34 cars will be locked in, leaving an extra spot for qualifying time.

Oh sweet, Hermie Sadler got the car for Martinsville.

Whoops a new thread was made about it.
