Also surprised this hasn't been brought up but....insurance fraud?
This is where I'm coming from when I say it doesn't add up for me, and possibly even an inside job.

Not to mention, this is a team that has been kind of scattered since the beginning. Last year was full of issues and excuses, and it ultimately looked like a team owner who was way in over his head. And now this happens. It just doesn't seem right.

Well...this IS Xxxtreme Motorsports we're talking about...
Well technically it's Team Xtreme now lol but yeah they don't exactly have the most sterling history.

Very first race they hired David Reutimann, ended up S&Ping, Reutimann was really pissed because he could have run the #10 the entire distance but Cohen lied to him in his offer. Then they S&P all of their 2013 starts and mysteriously disappear halfway through the season. Then last year they can't qualify for a race, buy the Swan points but can't keep an engine from failing. They later go on two separate hiatuses with Cohen claiming thwt Randy Humphrey Racing was tampering with his employees. Then they come back this year, get good sponsorship at Daytona but wreck the field in qualifying. They get a backup car from Premium and race in, but 1 week later their car is "stolen" from the track.

If the stories of Ginn Racing and Swan Racing are dramas, this is an epic.

They found it on the side of the road. The team states the car was dumped on Lenora Rd in Loganville, Ga.

what in the actual ...

My reaction too. Still seems fishy to me. I mean it's not out of this world that a stolen car is found abandon on the side of the road, but a prepped $10,000+ Nascar racecar? (is that how much they're worth? I wouldn't know) And the fact it was found not even 24 hrs after it was reported stolen. I'm not a crook, nor do I think like one, but if I were to steal something like this I would either try to profit from it somehow or go for a joyride. Which brings up another thing I noticed. There appears to be no physical damage to the car. Like someone just rolled it off the trailer onto the grass. That also seems kind of funny to me.

Still not sure what to think.

Yeah this whole deal just seems very weird to me. Just curious, haven't heard anything else on it but was the trailer ever found? I read that they had a $100,000 prepped engine in the hauler.

The whole thing reminds me of a high school locker trolling.

This was weird because who would seriously want to steal a underfunded team. Good luck to these guys.

There are pathetic idiots out there who steal stuff just to get their jollies in the theft itself and momentarily getting away with it, without the slightest interest in what they're actually stealing.

Seriously...if I wanted to steal a $300K NASCAR stock car, I would at least make a joyride out of it.

Or sell it.

DISCLAIMER: Tommy To, Vercetti Auto Sports, and its affiliates do not condone stealing for any reason and do not encourage this type of behavior, we are just using an example.

Well this wasn't the only thing stolen in Atlanta, 2 Monster Energy Supercross bikes were stolen and then there was hit & run on Jennifer Joe Cobb's team van and her personal car and several others at the Hotel she was at.

The only thing missing is a guy that's trying to make it big, a guy that's trying to stay out but was dragged back in, and a batshit insane man.

Or a set of Serbian cousins. COUSIN! IT'S YOUR COUSIN! LET'S GO BOWLING!

Can you imagine if the people who stole the truck and Trailer didn't know that there was a racecar inside? They get to a spot, open the trailer up too see what's inside, and BAM! 300K Race-Prepped Sprint Cup Car. They probably ditched it because they were after the truck and trailer. Those two things can be re-painted, tampered with, and then sold again. A Sprint cup car... Not so much. Even if they Parted it out, it would draw attention, with the whole county looking for it. As soon as Parts popped up, the Fuzz would be all over it. I mean, if someone in your town started selling Sprint Cup parts after a car goes missing, Id be REAAAAAAL suspicious...

This^
They more than likely stole it because it's a truck and trailer, and when they finally opened it up, they knew they were in some deep trouble seeing that car.... so they ditched it and kept the truck and trailer.

I'm not sure what to think of this. This team is getting more exposure over this deal than they ever would have if they made the race.

But at the same time, where the car was stolen isn't a good part of Georgia so I'm not surprised it happened.
