Is there anyway I can make the A.I run a line lower than they do at certain tracks I have tracks like Darlington and Lowe's where the AI run the top two line (the middle and the top) but not the bottom and after about 5 laps a few cars race so high up they bounce of off the tri oval walls on exit of turn 4 and cause a massive wreck..Is there something I can change in the .ini files to make them run a bit lower?

That probably sounds like a new race.lp would fix it

Oddly enough, I have been experiencing this too. Though I get it at Lowe's, Dega and Bristol.

Lower AI_wall_offset to 20 (100 is full contact and zero the cars merge into each other) 20 allows the cars to make contact with each other and clip walls without causing wrecks. Try lowering the ai_line_mod to 1.00 and squeeze to 0.00 if either are above those values the cars will step out of the race lp but warning, dropping them to the above levels will sanitize the degree to which the ai race each other. I tend to run every track with the line mod between 1.005-1.04 without problem and squeeze between 0.05-0.40 depending on the track. It maybe that the dlat pad is too low... I run between 0.55-0.80 at tracks but sometimes if the dlat pad is too close the cars will attempt to go three or four wide where its not advisable, forcing the outside car into the wall and causing wrecks. dlat pad is basically the number of car widths the cars will run together (so 0.5 is half a car width, 1.0 is a full car width). having a low dlat pad is good for making the ai pass and upping the draft distance can resolve problems with the dlat pad but in equal parts damage the ai's ability to pass. I'd suggest running some short races and adjusting the above lines as required. I usually start at ai_line_mod 1.04, dlat_pad 0.55, drafting distance 1.1 and squeeze at 0.20 and then scale them back until the ai can run twenty laps without crashing and remain competitive. Usually my second race will run ai_line_mod 1.02, dlat_pad 0.70, drafting distace 1.2 and squeeze at 0.10 if they crash in the first. Once you have them not crashing, tinker with the four to increase overtaking.

What's weird amidst is that these things didn't always happen for me. They started to happen gradually as I would do more races, eventually turning into full blown wrecks. I used to be able to race everywhere without any issues at all, and now several tracks have started to bug out with the AI hitting the wall. It usually starts with them driving an unusually high line in the turns, often grinding the entire turn wall before wrecking coming out of the turn.

By the way, I haven't touched any of the ini files where I get the issues, so I have no idea what would have caused it.

As you have improved, have you increased the ai difficulty? Have you changed the driver ratings or edited wholesale using a program like Nratings (using different formula I had a Marcos Ambrose who crashed out in 80% of his races which is pretty unlikely even for him) or have you upgraded your tracks using new SBP or Revamped edits? I test my ini's at 100% but I am definately better at editing track files than racing. Using edited jasper setups I am a 95% driver at best with a horrible tendency to chew my tires...

I'd definately try lowering the ai_wall_offset to 20 at least it makes for better have at it racing. As for a progressively degrading AI, that is odd if my above suggestions haven't attributed to it.

I've increased the difficulty, but I race on different difficulties on each track, depending on the setup I have, varying from 80% to 110%. I've used nratings a few times, but I first used it months ago, and never had anything like this happening until a few weeks ago.

I have a few revamped reloaded tracks, but the only one that has the issue is Talladega. Which again like the others did not happen at first, seemed to happen gradually.

Usually the butter zone for the AI difficulty seems to be 92-97%. You usually don't want to go over 100% because past that is where the wrecks start.

I don't typically go over 100%, only do so at super speedways because I can barely drive at other tracks with my keyboard. I usually race between 85-100%. Even in that range I'll get people randomly wrecking and grinding across the wall.
