Hey, I was wondering if anybody knew or forgot about what I read on Jayski's in October of 2008. I remember it was a week or two before the unveiling of the new 2009 "Firestorm" paint scheme and was just curious if anybody saw in that article about the new paint scheme where it said about "every time the president changes, they get a new dupont paint scheme". The main point I'm getting at is not to raise a big political arrgument on here, is that there is a possibility that we may be seeing another new Du Pont paint scheme on the #24 car in 2013. Also, that's IF Du Pont returns as a sponsor too. Just thought I'd point that out. Not sure anybody finds this interesting or not but thanks for reading.(y)

I remember that. I was really wondering what would happen if DuPont would not of come back for 2011.

When Bill Clinton was president for two terms the scheme stayed the same (from 1992-2001) and as when GWB was president for two terms (2001-2008 minus the very little changes to it) His scheme changed when Obama went into office, so I'd say unless he's reelected it will change once again.

I'd say there probably will be a new Du Pont paint scheme since Du Pont has always been on Gordon's car. just guessing

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that regardless of the political landscape in 2012 or 2013, the DuPont car stays the same. They've scaled back their sponsorship and have two very iconic paint schemes in their arsenal. If there is any change, I'd only expect to see them go back to the rainbow car.

Maybe they will combine the two and make a rainbow ON FIRE!

Hope so! (y) haha

It might change, although I wonder if the AARP scheme will change along with the DuPont scheme. And I mean major changes, not minor ones like next year's having a little added black.

If he gets back in they should still change the scheme for his change you can believe in.

I don't want Obama to be reelected...

I just wanted to show the flaw in the OP's logic. :p

Something in NASCAR that we expect has aligned with something we want.

I say this only because it is quite an unusual feeling knowing this.
