I know you've seen my Battlefield 3 car but this here was a competition we kinda came up with, we were curious to see who thought who's car was better and solve our dispute quicker.
Mine:

Tim's:

I thought this thread may come up... XD

I am going to have to go with Tim's, only because his colors stand out to me more. I like how he used them for the whole car. Still, both of them are awesome.

I'm glad that Tyler didn't make his a Toyota yet, that way I don't need to feel like I voted for his because of it being a Toyota.

For Tyler's: I like the orange numbers and base. I also like that there is an American flag next to his signature.

For Tim's: I like how the Nationwide body looks better but don't like GameStop being on it.

They both look great!

Tim's flows much, much better...good color choices, nice use of images from the game, textures, et al.

Ty's...well, it's a BF3 car. Base looks kind of forced. Nothing screams BF3.

Guess I shoulda copied and pasted designs from wallpapers and the cover and stuff then instead of trying something original...

As i already told you two, i voted for Ty. Tim's does sent battlefield but if there's one pet peeve i have it's when you don't line up the seams, as hard as it may be. Frankly i'd rather see something that wasn't copied and pasted from the wallpaper.

I feel like Tim's does match up pretty well. Certainly not perfect, but it looks like he at least made an effort. Not saying Ty didn't, because his looks to match up too, but I feel like Tim's matches up better.

No direct offense meant. You guys asked. I'm just being brutally honest based on what the intent of this thread was.

Tim may have used wallpapers, but it pops more to me, and looks...at least from those renders, like it's lined up fairly well. It's an archetypal GameStop scheme. Nothing wrong with that, especially when executed like he did.

You went outside the box, which is very commendable, but between the two, Tim executed the design better in my book. I'd also consider changing the number style on yours. The 'roundness' of the font and the particular color choice doesn't really lend itself to the aggressiveness of your scheme and sponsor.

I am also aware of the small seams in the design, this design was not to be perfect but just to be close enough.

I like both of them, both you guys did a good job. The more I look at the 51 I like that you did something original but to me I think the black is throwing the rest of the scheme out of whack.I really like the graphics on the bottom but then as you move up it just looks bland when you get to the black.I think it's also throwing off the hood design as well. It might just be me though and I'm not the best painter so take it for what it is worth.Maybe try a different color to tie the bottom of the car and the hood together. I like the 2, it looks like the type scheme that gamestop uses in the nationwide series. Not sure I like the numbers though. Great job guys!

The only thing I don't like about the #2 is the number. Either way I still prefer it.

@Ty- I wouldn't get too frustrated at Tim's car. I've had the opportunity to design real Game Stop cars in the past and you really have to dig to learn as much as you can about the game and how its being marketed. Tim seemed to nail it after I looked through the official website, Twitter, and Facebook pages.

That being said, I hope you can take away some positives. I don't think your car is that far off, and with some polishing, you could really give us trouble trying to pick one. Consider that the Battlefield brand seems to go with this grey/silver/bluish color that Tim used. You can also pick out characters or scenes from the game to help solidify the brand. Also, take a look at the style of font the Battlefield logo uses. Is there a similar one that you can use for the number? And while you're working on the number, maybe use some thicker outlines to help it pop from the background design.

Finally, consider sizing the associate sponsors down just a little bit more. I know people like to see logos as big as possible, but sizing them in moderation always feels like it makes the car look a little more professionally designed- its a small thing, but it delivers big results.

Hope you can take the advice above to heart- I'm certainly not trying to discourage, and if anything, I hope that it encourages you to work harder on the next car. I'll be looking forward to it!

I get what people are saying, I tried to be original with my design but eh whatever, I'll just do what Tim did next time.

Sometimes originality can just be a cruel thing. Video game cars in general seem to always be tough on it. There are so many graphics, branding, and other things that go into them, that its hard to break out of. I've found if you do it right, the video game pretty much designs the car for you.

If you want a proper competition between someone judging creativity, I would suggest finding a sponsor that isn't as completely branded. There's usually more room to maneuver and allow for more creativity.
