I just updated some components in my desktop, specs are going to be as follows:

AMD FX-4100 3.6 ghz quad core CPU (Corsair liquid cooling)
2x8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1066 RAM (heat spreaders built in)
Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM 1TB (air cooled)
MSI Radeon 7850 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 (Twin Frozr series) in a PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
Corsair Enthusiast 650W PSU

nr2003 mods: Gen6, SRUSA NwS13, CWTS13 (all pertinent "shiny" addons as well)
Resolution: 1600x900

My question is, what am I going to be potentially looking at in terms of frames for nr2003/iRacing? I was using an XFX Geforce GT 630 (until it essentially burned up)

Figured I'd ask mainly because some of you likely have similar configurations.

You should be able to run iRacing no problem with near max settings. If not maxed out.

As for NR2003 I can't definitely say. A lot of it depends on how you tweak your settings and files for NR2003. It can run like crap if you have a number off by one. Or it can run flawlessly. You just need to take the time and study/test all the NR2003 tweaks out there.

Also that is an ATI card right? I'd steer clear from those from my personal experiences. I've had two consecutively crap out on me on different machines. Ever since then I've only ran nVidia/PNY. Plus the nVidia control panel is nice and useful tool. I'm sure Radeon has a control panel but I can't remember it was so long ago since I had an ATI card.

iRacing you'll be doing really well. Feel free to turn the graphics up nice and high. NR2003 you'll be fine, too. But as stated above, make sure to get the graphics tweak setup and don't go over on the numbers that'll freak NR2003 out. Most guys don't have luck with the tweak when going up to 1GB for video RAM. Most stick to 512.

Also are you running 1 screen or 3 screens? that can make a huge difference, too, and brings in a whole new buncha workable angles as far as screen resolutions and what have you.

1 screen, and honestly I used the graphics tweak, but found a slightly better happy medium with the -1 Texture Set Size tweak. And I recall someone here mentioning (I believe it was Matt) saying that pushing the tweak settings is a great way to burn up your video card. I dunno, but I usually stick with -1 and I WAS using the nvidia control panel to "force" certain additional graphic enhancements on the game.

With my GTX 630 I've averaged 25-35 frames using the SRUSA nws13 mod at Charlotte 2013 (the one with the functional screen on the back straight), with an occasional dip to 20 (and 15 on a bad day for my computer, which was recently as the GTX 630 started to burn out).

I'm savvy enough to be closing a lot of background programs (I don't bother with EndItAll) via task manager's processes listing.

I know ATI has a similar control panel out there to do what nvidia's does, and I'll likely do that. I was trying to get a feel for what I could be expecting on that end. I really do think my system was bottle-necking around the GTX 630 128-bit card, and with this it *should* jump in performance a fair amount.

I have an AMD Card and I have had no problems. I used to run all nVidia cards only as well but this time I thought id give the 7950 a try. Has been flawless in every game I throw at it. Max settings. Ultra whatever you wanna call it.

I use the Catalyst Control Center to give NR2003, all the AA, AF, SS, everything. Looks super purdy and I get 130+ FPS doing it. Although mostly its the CPU doing the work for NR2003 but all the other games are doing just fine.

As others stated just set things up right and you can be running NR2003 all maxed and with all the eye candy.

Thanks for the feedback guys I really do appreciate it. Now I'm definitely excited to get my parts (should be here Wednesday). Just in time to get it rewired, installed and tweaked for my birthday. I've waiting year upon years to get a halfway decent computer together, and I'm really excited to finally have it happen. Maybe I'll even dual screen my 46" LG HDTV now lol

Nr2003 doesnt really care much about your graphics card past a certain level. These days focus speeding the game up entirely by processor speed. Thats a really low frame rate considering its only one screen with a great vidcard (unless you bought some cheapo version of it.... never go less than 150 bucks on a new vidcard i always say) so id guess it was your processor.

I have less a vidcard than that and get double your frame rate on 3 screens. What was your old setups processor speed?
