What is the longest race in NR2003 that youve ever been in mine is 98 laps at atlanta and i would like to know am i the only one that dosent race long races?
Mine has been 100 laps at Bristol and Martinsville and actually brought it home in one piece! I don't have time for long races, but I'd love to race the full distance for a 2009 season in NR2003, that would be pretty fun!http://www.simracingdesign.com/images/smilies/wacky smiles/spinny.gif
I ran a full length race back in the Nascar 4 era. It was a league race at a SuperSpeedway, can't remember which track. After almost 4 hours at the wheel, I was exhausted, lol. I will never do that again.
To race a full 100% lap race is to dedicate an entire day to that. It's just like watching a real one except you can't get up and go around (unless you pause of course) and you are constantly working. You'll be exhausted at the end. It's actually a pretty amazing experience if you have your AI setup just right and you work strategies and patience. Trust me, as the races get longer, you appreciate having a working car by half way. Of course if it's Bristol, you appreciate having a front end by half way .
Back in the NR3 days (could have been NR99 or NR2 - can't remember which) I ran a full length race at Bristol. Engine blew on lap 490 while I was leading. Can't remember much about the race other than being in a state of shock coasting back to the pits. Oil warning light was coming on at the end of the straights for the last 75 -100 laps or so. Couldn't slow up to much as I was battling for the lead.
Since then nothing much above 40% (more likely 20-25%). Though I did run a full Shootout on Revamped's new Shootout track (original bumps) and finished 8 laps down. Accident early in the 2nd segment caused me to run around with damage on the right front by myself (Lost seven laps due to no drafting help).
Huh i hate it whne things like that happen right before you finish you somehow loose and engine but hey thats racin......Btw can you randomly blow a tire in this game cause i was racin ith one of my freinds a couple weeks a go to test my internet and i came out of turn 2 at atlanta and just blew a tire went slammin into the safer barrier fun i would reccomend it for a ride for your kids
Wow im going to give my first attempt at a 100% race today at atlanta. Maybe they will finish in th same order in real life i mean this game is supposed to be realistic right
I've raced 100% at Talladega on EA's crappy NASCAR 08. I also attempted to race 100% on Daytona on EA's other crappy NASCAR 09 to test AI's strength and it turned out AI was SO dumb and I gave up on the whole game and focus on NR2003.
That's gotta stink, I'm gonna try to run the 500 with at least 60% sometime. Hopefully, I'll dodge "the big one!"http://www.simracingdesign.com/images/smilies/wacky%20smiles/err.gif
I've run 50% on all tracks . the shorter tracks like bristol or martinsville i barely lived through but martinsville i stole the win.
Talledega and Daytona i've run both at 100% several times and won both
I've done atlanta, texas, and vegas at 100% twice scored 2 wins at atlanta and texas and a 4th at vegas.
Honestly if you want an opinion in the game its fun to run it for the sake of running it, but even if you win it's pretty lack luster. even if you spend 10 minutes like doing burnouts and whatnot
The group that I race with on line run 100% plus for the full season
I myself off a total of 10000 laps for the full season, the last race is at daytona & is 400 laps , there is one at Talladega that is 350 laps:spinny::spinny::spinny:
I usually do an offline season every year. I set the laps to 100% and then adjust the actual laps in the season file for each race.
I typically run the full 100% race at Bristol, Dover, Martinsville, Richmond and Pocono. The short tracks are unbelievably difficult to run at 100% because of the AI. Lots of cautions.
But honestly Dover is my favorite track. Its my home track, grew up going to that place to watch Dale, Rusty, Ricky and Harry Gant battle it out every year. I also did the Stockcar driving experience at Dover. Its a blast to run 400 laps at Dover. It does get tiring, but thats the fun of it. Trying to stay focused for 400 laps. You really get a feel for what these cup drivers experience every weekend. You learn to pace yourself and not beat up the car.
I've actually learned to be less aggressive in the longer races. If I have a good pace going that isn't burning holes in the tires, I won't fight for position unless its a must. The cool thing is when you've made it through 350 laps and you've got 50 to go and you're in a good position. Thats when that last pitstop is critical to get the car handling perfect and no mistakes. You get pumped up and excited. For the first 350 laps you just kinda zone out, hitting your marks with every corner and casually passing cars that get in your way. The last 50, you just crank it. My fastest laps show up in that last 50laps. I turn the heat on, sit up a bit more straight and start getting up on the wheel.
