How do you get cars you painted in the game? Like the cars I've painted with photoshop, I can't figure out how to get them in, and play them. Thanks a bunch. :)

Probably the easiest way is to save them as a TGA and put it into the imports/exports folder. WinMip2 is good but it messes the quality up a bit

Thats actually not a stupid question for someone who has never done it.

The above post is all you have to do

Whatever you paint in SHOULD save as a Targa (tga) file. If not then yeah, WinMip2. Save it or drag it into your import/export folder then import it onto the car you want in the game.

And it also helps the quality of your car if you change this line in your player.ini

import_textures_with_compression=1

to

import_textures_with_compression=0

:)

I've always had excellent results using WinMip to install high res schemes. The trick, I think, is to be sure you don't have the compression turned on in WinMip.

The process that works for me:
1. Create a new Driver in Opponent Manager (Make, Name, Number, Sponsor, etc.) and save it within Opponent Manager.
2. Save your .psd paint file as a Bitmap (.bmp) someplace you can easily find it.
3. Launch WinMip, navigate to the cars folder of the selected Series and open the .car file.
4. Using WinMip's Import button navigate to your paint's saved .bmp. Don't forget the crew if you made one.
5. Be sure to select the "Uncompressed" selection for both car & crew.
6. Save by navigating back to the series/ cars folder and overwrite the .car you created.
7. Bing, bang, boom...Hi-Res paints.

If you're redoing a skin for an existing driver it's even easier...just follow steps 3-6. Maybe I've just been lucky but I've never had a problem with WinMip messing up my quality (and I've used it to import 2048x2048).
