alternative cockpit view

I recently installed the cup90 mod and it has an extra view from the cockpit, can this be found as an add-on to other mods?

If you're referring to the edited roof camera view, yes. It is simply changing the coordinates of where the roof camera's located.

For instance on the NWS12 SRD mod it is located further back closer to where it actually is, on the Whelen mod, it's a hood view.

That is the roof camera, just with edited coordinates. Normally, NR2003 has four main views when driving. Cockpit, Roof, Bumper and Chase (with two chase views)

What the Cup90 mod (and NWS12 mod) did was take the Roof camera and move it, in NWS12's case was to move it further back to what you'd see on TV< and in Cup90's case, to a second cockpit view.

You could just try renaming make_a.cam to make_a_(series name).cam and putting the new file in the NASCAR Racing 2003 Season\series\(series name) folder.
If it doesn't work for that particular series car model you can make your own adjustments: Modify a Driving View Camera @NRTracks
