It is very annoying. I just let them whine and moan about it.

I love it when people rant about how annoying other people's ranting is.

Works about as well as complaining about how annoying it is that people are complaining.

I dont like Johnson winning, but today mother nature won and thats something worth ranting about. I said Bristol was a bad race because of the new surface that basicly ruined that track not because JJ won which didnt help ethier.

Oh I forgot to say hes the luckest person ever thats why everyones sick of him its just boring.

When did they resurface bristol? Didn't they just redo the track 3 years ago?

Yeah I mean the surface that they redid 3 years ago, I just dont like it.

What don't like side by side racing for the finish? That is why NASCAR is worth watching, if I wanted to see cars follow each other the entire race I'll watch indy cars or IZOD cars or whatever they are called now.

Well they were side by side and that was about all that happened in that race. I liked the old where you bumped and rubbed your way to the lead. It had emotion it had crashes it was NASCAR. The new version is just a watered down version of what Bristol used to be. Proably one of the worst decisions that was made in NASCAR in the past 10 years. I think that its much harder to pass and that you basicly will stay side by side the whole time and it creates less exciting racing. But this is just my opinion.

Martinsville is way harder to pass than Bristol.

Ohhhh 3 wide at Chicago...we saw that at Martinsville yesterday

You can't bump and bang in Indy cars and if you do then your day is over pretty much.

So 3 wide at 80 mph is more impressive than 3 wide at 225? When was the last time 3 cars stayed even while 3 wide for several laps in Nascar?

The fact that you cant bump makes it more impressive....and the way the tires are, seems you cant bump and bang much in Nascar either (see Burton yesterday)

All im saying is this ignorant view of Indycar as "follow the leader" is BS. Nascar is follow the leader for 90% of the race by that theory.

The "Hmmm...ain't seen that in Nascar for a while" was directed at close side by side finishes outside of those two Duels btw. I threw that 3 wide clip to demonstrate that Indycar isn't "follow the leader"

The first part, I actually find short track battles more entertaining then battles on a bigger track.

The second part, I simply disagree.

The third part, agreed.

BTW, I love Nascar because i love all motorsport, each kind has its own character and pros and cons that make them interesting. 3 wide at Martinsvilel is incredibly impressive, but so is 3 wide in an Indycar. I like bumping and banging as well, but saying a series isnt good because you cant is just stupid.

Openwheel racing is the oldest form of motorsport and the disrespect and ignorance some "race" fans (btw not directed at anybody here, just in general) hold for it is extremely frustrating, same with the ignorance other fans show towards Nascar.

The only real reason I don't watch IndyCar or any form of open wheel racing is because I fear too much for driver safety to enjoy it. It's hard to imagine a flip in those kind of cars without crushing your neck. That's the reason I can't enjoy NASCAR plate races.

Generally, you will not like a sport if you don't understand it.

See, for me, that threat of danger is what motorsport is about and what makes it such an amazing sport. Its never good to see a driver hurt or killed, and id never hope for that, but the danger is what makes it so rewarding. Ive driven Karts for years, and did a little Scca, and not once did i fear for my safety. I always sort of had the attitude of, if i get hurt or worse, it was doing something i love. IMO, thats part of the problem with modern motorsport, F1 in particular. Everything has gotten so sterile that it's become somewhat boring. Safety is a good thing, but it when it begins to affect the competition, whether it be the Cot in Nascar, or the tracks in F1, Its not good. Progress in one area, while going backwards in another, is not what we need.
