Just try them all out and see which one you like best

06 is by far the best version i've found. That's a fun little track to race on. I wish someone would really spruce it back up. It breaks my heart seeing pics of it abandoned.

I have '06, not done a full race yet (plan to one of these days) but it looks fun for sure.

I have 2 of the 3 you mention.

Graphically, the 06 version is the best by a sizeable margin, but I race on the 2004 version because I find the 06 version virtually impossible to drive on (at least in cup).

I think the issues I have with the 06 version stem from the track.ini file. The low track_tire_heat value means that you can't keep heat in the tires for long, and once you get down to about 160 deg it is fairly slippery. This is exacerbated by a low track_tire_wear_exp value which means you lose more grip early in the run.

Running more than 40 laps under green means a high probability of spinning. There doesn't seem to be a setup that helps (even shifting all the weight forward to over 52%). Bit of a shame given how good the track looks, but the enjoyment factor from the 04 version is much higher for me, as I don't much like driving on ice.

Of course I could edit the track.ini, but I only ever edit ini file to change opponent behaviour - once you start changing values that impact your own car, you aren't really running the same track as everyone else, so I don't do that, just in case I ever want to race in a league.

Hope this helps

It's pretty easy for me to get around. Also, I raced there today over 40 laps, although not far past 40 (60), and it never got slippery for me. It was more of a loss of front grip than it was rear grip. I just didn't have the speed at the end than I had at the start. I never felt like I was going to spin out.

You might be right - I should never discount the possibility that I am just a bad driver.

I usually 300-400 lap races, and a full fuel load gets you about 120-130 laps from memory. I've usually found it slippery starting about 40 laps and getting much worse by the end of the fuel run (if I make it that far). I have often made it past 60 laps, but very rarely got to 120-130 laps. The slipperiness is usually quite sudden - I can be fine one lap and then spinning the next.

Why don't you try a 130 lap race and see if you get slippery (assuming no cautions!) - if you don't, can I have your setup, LOL?

Cheers

Brad

I'm starting a league soon (full length races) and I'm looking for the version that will provide the best racing for all involved. I don't want a caution filled wreckfest but I don't want people to be bored to death either.

They are all good but the WR version has multiple groves with varied grip so you can pass on the outside.(y)

I had 2 cautions in the 60-lapper, so 130 probably won't be caution free. lol

I'm not really good with setups, so I never make my own. I just use the presets that are already there and I very rarely tweak on those. I used the one called "Wilkes" in that race.
