Ok I can't seem to figure this out :/ A little while back I watched this video and followed the steps. Ever since I did this I've been having these issues... Is there anything here I should undo or do differently? Thanks!!

Ok.. I'm right there with you bud.. I've NEVER had any luck setting my Texture size to -1 I've built several PCs over the years and trust me my new one is on the high end. I7 4Ghz 16gig memory Nidia 980GTX SC with 4Gb memory.. Daytona I'm running around 70 to 120Fps Vsync my game so that holds it to 120fps.. Bottom line I always have to set my texture size and this clears up any issues with graphic fragmenting.

Try this and see how it works, it is the sweet spot for me TextureSetSize=512646912
You might need to adjust a bit depending on your system If you need to adjust up or down change the second number in line example like 502646912 or up if needed. This will take care of your turn 4 choke or graphic fragmenting.

Cheers,
Freddy

Freddy, I was responding to his post (#17 in this thread) where he watched the video about how to fix blurry graphics. kdw48 also stated in that post that the issues he's having with his NR2003 graphics started after he followed the instructions outlined in the video.

James
oh.. OK I understand.
Cheers,
Freddy

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem and now we finally have some solutions.

Here's something interesting. I used winmip2 to compress both car and crew to 24 bit. It asked to overwrite and I clicked yes. Then there was a second and third box that popped up saying dxtex.exe not found. The majority of the paints and crews are now solid black in-game. Since I can't de-compress them I'll have to re-download all the cars again. I will say that by compressing the car files, I did not get the jagged shapes and massive frame drops. I was seeing anywhere from 140 frames by myself in the corners to as low as 50 frames going by the grandstands. I was using the new gen 6 mod Talladega 2014. This is with in-game reflections turned on. Does anybody know what I'm talking about with the solid black paints and crews? What did I do wrong?

Edit: I found out what was wrong. I had the winmip2 program but not the dxtex.exe

XP SP3 compatibility mode also solved everything for me. Now able to run high-res tracks with everything maxed and full field of cars (previously could only get up to about 23 cars). Thanks everyone!

If you are on Windows 7 or 8, when you go to start the program, right click the NR2003 icon and go to "Troubleshoot compatibility" or some such. Then choose the settings for Windows XP SP3, and the program will run in compatibility mode.

I was wondering if somebody could please take a look at my settings here. I fear I may have screwed something up... I am getting pretty horrible framerates on a pretty high end computer and I can't figure out why.

What I can say more.... Freddy said a good deal above what you can try to do - try to use TextureSetSize=512646912 instead of your 820085504 and see what happens then. If this still don't work well and you have some frame drops, blinks or freezes then change second number at TextureSetSize to zero (502646912). As I wrote above I have not a high end pc (about 8 years old one) graphic card GTX 460 1Gb VRAM, compressing cars help a little but not for good and not for all tracks and I try what hi wrote above (actually for me worked that "thing" with zero as second number) and finally for me it works very well, no more frame drops, no more freezes, no more blinks even on high end tracks with new 15 mods! Try to do that and see what happens then.

Thank you! I will have to try this tonight.

I was wondering if someone can help me out, the car textures in game look nice and crisp when using a close view during a race , but they get pixelated when I use tv1 or tv2 view.

Try changing your pool size to match max block size. And I've never seen my grafix card come back with Anisotropic filter at zero
