SIRIUSXM128 NASCAR Chief Appellate Officer has upheld the penalty for the No. 33 car, with the following revisions: Crew chief Shane Wilson’s fine has been reduced from $150,000 to $100,000 & Wilson & car chief Chad Haney’s race suspensions have been lowered from 6 to 4. Both are suspended from NASCAR until Nov. 3 and are on probation until Dec. 31. The loss of 150 championship owner and driver points remains intact.

Honesty, what a crock. $150,000 was too much but 150 pts wasnt? Come on. What a crock of ****.

There just doing it to rub it RCR's faces. They can't actually think that Richard fought it this much for $50,000, can they?

I have never seen a team this demoralized after penalty this badly. They should have reduced the points penalty to at least 100 points, just my opinion.

cheating is cheating.

Well, yeah, but remember when Mark Martin was penalized 47 points? People were debating about how harsh the penalty was because the only thing illegal about the spacer was how it was attached, and nothing more. This is no different.

I still think there isn't enough evidence on the side of NASCAR for this.

I think the fact that the body is mounted on the chassis wrong is more then enough evidence.

Do I think Richard knew about it...? No I think it was done behind his back, but ultimately he is responsible for making sure his cars are legal at all times which he failed at doing.

And didn't NASCAR say that there technically wasn't anything wrong with Mark's car and that it didn't give him an advantage in any way? Also, that led to another Dale Sr. championship since the points battle was so close. That seems to be where the real motive lies.

But about Bowyer, I felt it was a little harsh, too, seeing as how many times Chad Knaus and the 48 have been caught cheating.

You do bring up a point which Childress made, and that it was foolish to make the car illegal if they were inspecting it regardless of finishing position.

In hindsight, NASCAR should have just made that car illegal by changing the rules to ban that car...

much like how they did that to Jeff Gordon's T-Rex car.

The rules already said it was illegal. The T-Rex car was for a non-points race.

Nope. The car almost broke the rules in so many different categories it was unstoppable. Ray Evernham ordered every builder to build everything to the limit. The car was banned after because it's sheer awesomeness was too powerful.

Evernham pushed envelope with T-Rex Chevrolet - ESPN

To summarize, the genius of Evernham, Rex Stump, and Hendrick retired that car.

I was talking about the #33.

^ You can't form a sentence, but you want us to present the entire legal case to you? Read up on the situation, and the other thread we have on this very forum, and you'll learn all you're looking to know.

Well I guess noting your lack of ability to hit the shift key, and encouraging you to read up on all the information out there in order to inform yourself on an issue where most all of us are already well-informed on is being an A-hole, but I make no apologies for giving people some assistance on how to sound like an intelligent person.

I am rather disappointed by references to the T-Rex car whenever rules violation cases are being discussed. The T-Rex car happened, what, 15 years ago now? It's not something that will happen again, and that's a good thing. If anything, the T-Rex car is an argument for Nascar issuing the penalties that they did against the #33 team. Nascar wants a level-playing field, and they will take whatever steps are necessary in order to ensure a level playing field.

^ If you were really proud of it, you wouldn't have edited your original post to hide it. Further hijacking the thread in this sort of immature way it isn't going to do you, or anyone else, any good, so why continue it?

By the way, it's pompous, not poppas.
