Prime acquisition, Mr. Finch.

But now Cassill is on the market >.>

Anyway, Jayski and ESPN are reporting a handshake deal was struck.

Hopefully Cassill gets another shot at a decent ride. He has talent.

Essentially confirmed. Obviously an actual contract-signing hasn't taken place, but Jayski's opening line says that Kurt will drive the car definitively. ESPN bottom-line also didn't speculate. This is post-rumor.

"I'm very happy to join Phoenix Racing and after entertaining a lot of quality offers, there's no better place for me," Busch said in a statement.

A new ride won't do anything to change him. He'll still treat his team like crap.

Just watch.

Jayski says he MAY run the full nationwide series schedule and run for points, meaning...he won't collect points in the Cup series...interesting....this silly season has been good.

That makes sense, the #51 in cup most likely wouldn't be championship caliber but the KBM/JGR car in Nationwide should be. I think it's cool that the #51 is the number that Kyle has raced and owned and now Kurt will be in the #51. As a longer brother I like to see the older following the longer. :D

Billy Ballew owns the 51, right? Kyle has 18 and the 15 if i am correct. 51 isnt anything special other than Kyle drove it to a alot of wins, unless I am mistaken.

Thank you for confusing me. From what I have heard Kurt will be in the #51 Cup car for Phoenix Racing. You sir, are talking about the old #51 from the truck series that Kyle ran and won in.

Billy Ballew owns the primary 51 in trucks but doesn't run much anymore. Kyle has run the #51 in several races along with the #15 and #18. The second KBM truck switches back and forth from #51 and #15. KBM's Super Late Model team also runs the #51.

He was talking about the numbers that Kyle may run for Kurt in Nationwide/Truck.

Yes I am.

OK, thanks for the info.

As for Ballew, I believe his team started with the # 15. Therefore, he will probably opt to use the # 15 which will leave Kyle the # 51. I think Ballew started using the # 51 a season or two before Kyle came aboard and then they dubbed Kyle "Rowdy Busch" and they switched to the DoT font-style until last year, when BBM was sold to Vision Airlines. Vision still owned the # 15 and # 51 trucks this year, but since they cut back their schedule Kyle took the used a combination of both and since Kyle was using the # 15 at the time, Ballew used the # 51 for the F150 that Colin Braun attempted a few races with. I may be wrong, but this is what I understand to be true. I see KBM using the # 51 for Nationwide and using the # 51 in CWTS for correlation.

Doubtful. The Nationwide rumor was posted before Kurt signed with Finch. It's entirely possible that he won't run for his brother Kyle at all... if Chevrolet/Hendrick care enough about manufacturing support and towards Phoenix Racing from a marketing standpoint, Kurt won't be able to run his brother's Toyotas.

Think Finch will let Kurt run whatever he wants regaurdless of what Hendrick thinks.

"I told Kurt, 'I won't fire you, and you won't quit. We'll do whatever it takes to to win...all we want to do is win". -Finch

If this deal works out to it's fullest potential, I could see a Stewart-Haas situation developing possibly. Finch may object to that, but I think Kurt will at least help this team reach victory lane again. It's obviously huge for Finch's team, regardless of Kurt's persona and personality problems. Like he said, they now have a shot to win on any given Sunday.

Stewart-Haas situation developing ? You mean Busch going there? If so, I dont think its even an option Tony would consider.

A new line has appeared on Jayski saying that there are plans for Kurt to drive for Kyle regardless of this move.

"One option being considered is for Kurt Busch to run the full Nationwide schedule and compete for the series championship, multiple sources said."

Wow.

I could see Cassill going to the # 35, but I see him going to the # 71 Ford more. Ragan will probably hop into the # 43 / # 9 Ford Fusion next year and I see Cassill going to the # 71 Ford.
