i was having fun playing this game on my dads laptop until the whole computer blew up lol. i was wondering what the minimul system requirements would have to be on my new computer in order to play nr2003 season with good fps,and to download the new mods such as the ss.net cot mod and all of the other great mods out there. i am looking at laptops from dell, and some of them have intel graphic media addelerators. are these any good? any help would greatly be appreciated. thanks

I'm playing on an HP DV2z laptop and it works great (1024x768 resolution, all settings maxed, with an average of 50 to 60 fps). Of course, it's running on a dual core processor, 64 bit Vista, with 4gb of RAM and a 512mb video card. If your going to pick out and use a laptop I wouldn't get anything that doesn't have atleast a dual core processor and 2gb of memory. As for the graphics processor, don't get integrated graphics (as suggested in your post), get a laptop that actaully has a "graphics card" (with dedicated graphics memory). That should be adequate to run nr2003.

I think if you are drive and play nr2003 at the same time, you make see a black and white in the mirror of your own car

The point of owning a laptop isn't necessarily for playing nr2003 while I'm riding the metro or driving in my car. But, it is nice that while I'm on my lunch break at work I can use the same laptop I use to manage domains to play nr2003 - that makes it nice, lol. And, a lot of people look at high powered laptops as desktop replacements anymore, just for the convenience of being able to work anywhere, I suppose. Hopefully the OP can make an informed decision, if he is in fact considering purchasing a laptop - it might not be a cheap investment, but I was happy with my decision.

I'll give you a comparison to use.

Computer 1:2.1GHz processor
3GB memory
9600GT 512 video card
XP Home

To run smoothly through the frontstretches (Near 30fps) I need to keep options reduced to around half of what it could be.

Computer 2:2.8GHz
3.25GB
9800GTX 512
XP Home

Can run at 30+fps at minimum with all but just a few options.None that I miss anyway.lol

For smooth minimum I would say get as close to 3GHz as you can for processor speed.
3 or 4GB memory should be ok.
I experimented with onboard graphics and could get good framerates but quality suffered quite a bit.I'd say you would want a 512MB card if you can get it.Most of them will have enough oomph to get the graphics smoothed out a little.

Haven't seen what's available in laptops for awhile,so you'll have to just use these as some rough guidelines.
