i can understand bringing in conway for a financial background with extenze which is exactly like paul menard and menard's but
1) where the heck did conway even come from before the beginning of 2010?
2) if front row motorsports didnt have a good try with such a no name talent, than why would anyone else take a risk on a no-name especially with how financial tight most single car teams are these days
3) why would people continue to provide him rides given his and his sponsors reputation now

@ GoJeff:
Apparently Robby and Kevin got into an altercation in the garage area and Kevin filed a police report and brought the incident to NASCARs attention. Details are not released, and may not be, due to the pending court case between Kevin, Robby, and Extenze. Robby was placed on immediate probation until (end of the year) I suppose.

@IrishPride
Conway was a rising talent in the series before he joined FRM. Hard to believe, huh? I did not realize it until I got to look back through the entry lists for previous years. He drove a few races for JGR in the Nationwide series and when this whole "No Sponsor - No Ride" philosophy hit NASCAR, Conway started his own marketing company, which represents Extenze. Extenze pays Conway's marketing firm which pays the sponsorship money. Front Row Motorsports hired Conway specifically because he brought a large amount of money, although not paid, to the team. Front Row Motorsports' owner has the Taco Bell / Long John Silvers / A&W franchises, so he is fielding 3 full-time teams out of his own pocket. Anyone with a sponsor that does not get snatched by the bigger teams will get snatched by teams like FRM. I am a fan of Front Row Motorsports. They are kind of the top of the D-List NASCAR teams. They have purchased Mach 1 Motorsports, Specialty Racing, R&J Racing as well as a few other teams in their years in competition.

I'm not really surprised to hear about this. If I were Robby I'd probably punch him out too (if thats what happened). If Conway was in fact asking for his money, then he's got alot of nerve, especially with his involvment in Extenze. Maybe Robby should've stayed away from putting Conway in a car after the FRM situation, but in this economy where small teams (and some big teams for that matter) are desperate for sponsorship, it was obviously worth the risk for him. Hopefully Nemechek doesnt get burned as well. As I've stated before though, I'm pretty confident that Nemechek's deal didnt even allow Conway to climb into the car unless there was money in hand first.

I've said it before and I stand by it. Conway had absolutely no business being in a Cup car at all. If I'm going to be completely honest, I think it was somewhat of a disgrace. I know some people have been drawing a comparison with Menard, but they're two different situations. Menard ran in the Busch series for three seasons and was able to run up front and get top 10's/5's as well as a win. Maybe he was brought into Cup a year early, maybe not, but when DEI and Waltrip split, they needed to fill the seat and they had a real good Busch series driver in Menard waiting in the wings, so it was the obvious move to make. Conway had 26 Busch/Nationwide starts spread over 6 years and didnt do jack squat in those cars. No top 10's and an average finish of 27th. To see him all of a sudden in a full time Cup ride was definitely a little disgraceful in my opinion. Then his boys over at Extenze decide to skip out on the bill with two different race teams, which is really disgraceful. Him and his boys need to find something else to do and go sell magic pills to idiots.

Wow. He went to the cops? Usually fights are handled in house (meaning between Nascar/Team Owners). I think even when Jimmy Spencer beat up Kurt Busch that one time it was all handled in house. LOL.

And I hope Extenze doesn't turn out to be a scam company like how Enzyte was.

Exactly. Even though NASCAR did the PC thing by warning Robby, I bet Conway is NOT the most popular guy with NASCAR right now. They prefer to keep these things away from the press, etc. He just hurt NASCAR's image (which he already did by bringing in his sleazy sponsor), and they won't forget it.

Wow I wish I could say what I wanted about Kevin Conway without getting a warning, what a little coward. Conway and Extenze are a disgrace to NASCAR and I hope both go away for good. I hope Robby punched Conway in the mouth. How ironic that Conway's name fits his description, he's a Con-artist

In quote of Jeff Gordon last year:

Letarte: "The 16 is down a cylinder."

Jeff: "Thats ok, the 34 is down a driver."

I know Conway doesen't drive the 34 anymore, but he did for a few races last year.

Kevin Conway released a statement Monday evening: "I don't mind stiff competition, but I want to make sure the hard facts are told. First and foremost, I love being a part of NASCAR and have worked very hard to earn the privilege of competing in the Sprint Cup Series. On Friday night, Robby Gordon, who has a long history of issues in NASCAR decided to ambush me in the garage area at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, completely unprovoked. Robby even confronted Joe Nemechek, my car owner, on pit road during Cup Series qualifying shoving him and telling him that he was looking for me and going to assault me. We have many witnesses including a crew chief that signed a police report documenting the truth of his physical attack on me. Situations like this are not good for our sport. It's one thing if we were racing each other and I wrecked him or he wrecked me, that's an entirely different situation. It's very unfortunate that he chose to physically attack me to address his rage. Our fans, sponsors and NASCAR expect and deserve more from our competitors than this bullish, illegal behavior that was displayed by Robby against me."

Kids, the right thing to do here is just report to NASCAR and NASCAR only.

Interesting.

I can completely believe what Conway said above.

Robby is a hardnose, and I would expect him to be into bashing people up.

But that still doesn't make signing a contract knowing your management company can't pay half a million dollars alright. He is still a fraud.

Police is a little extreme.

Although that DOES depend. If it was a walk into garage unprovoked beat up then I might too.
