So I decided to try and make a track for NR 2003, and have done very well so far, but now I have 3 serious issues that I can't find the answer to....

#1: The AI during a Full Pace lap will try and drive thru the pit wall....but will stop after leaving pit road....

#2: The green flag flies immediately after the 1 to go is given....

#3: Some of the AI take longer than usual to make a pit stop, and the leave like they are boxed in by the car behind them.....

A video of the issues listed above....

#2 is very likely an ini issue
what are the starter decision settings versus the track distance?

The track length is 1287.55 and I have the starter decision set to 1175.70 and 1205.50

For #1, check your "merge_from_pit_line_dlong = xxx" in the [ pit_lane_0 ] section of the track.ini, looks like they try to merge immediately. It should be higher than the lane_merge_dlong = xxx value.

Issue 2 is weird, think I'd have to see the track.ini for that

issue 3 could be 2 things, either you have a little bit of surface defined as Racing Surface on the pitroad (in Sandbox, go to View/Display Extended Surface Types and make sure you don't have ant grey stuff on pitroad). The other option is that they end too far from their stall in some cases (that's when they are dragged left and right and sometimes blink out for a sec). Going slightly higher on begin_stall_entry_offset =xxx might help. Problem is that it could hurt other stalls so this is a tricky one.

In the first ([ track ]) section, is the track_length = xxxm set to a value in miles or meters? If it's meters try using miles.

For issue number one I think your your pace lap needs to start before the start/finish dlat/dlong values. If the pace car is positioned in front for the full lap pace lap then the cars will stop and it won't work. At least this is what I saw on my own tracks and how I fixed it.

I doubt anyone can help definitively without access to the ptf and track.ini.

#1
per riviera71
check your "merge_from_pit_line_dlong = xxx"...

#2
possibly
[ ai_track ]
pace_merge_from_pit_line_dlong = farther than < ; pace car/ stall_pace = x.xx >
pace_merge_to_pit_line_dlong = 100m short of halfway

#3
too limiting a view in the video
hard to determine if the ai receive service, #27, #4, #15, and #43 don't appear to be
the ai leaving in reverse may be a segment problem, the radius (where the pit stall is) being too close to the vertex (the point of the segment "V")

Ok, now I just found out the problem to issue #1 and #2....

In the the track.ini, the word Pace was missing from both merge lines under the ai_track part, which cause problems #1 and #2.....

As for problem #3, I will continue to play around with the ini to try and fix this...

Anyway, thanks for the help!
