Has anyone been successful in adding custom tires to the SS.NET mod?

I downloaded a set of Michelins From Raceline Central.

The file I downloaded has the three mip files. Their size was 256x128. Since the file had two tires on it, I tried to resize the image to 1024x512. I renamed the three files tire3XXX.mip. Placed them in the COT series folder. When I went into the game, I could see the tires somewhat but they were not lined up on the wheels.

I then corped the images to a single tire and resized it to 512x512. This time I couldn't even see the cards in the Opp Manager and the carset wouldn't load on any track.

I'm new to these mods for NR2k3 as I just moved from N4 late last year (I had to buy the game on Ebay).

Can anyone provide any assistance on these?

Thanks!

i don't believe there is a need in resizing them, just drop them into the folder as is.

So, no one here has been successful using any other tire with the SS.NET COT mod other than a GoodYear?

I can't believe that.....:err:

It is definitely possible. I should make a tutorial for it once I get WinMip2 working.

BTW eeegolf, sorry I haven't replied to your PM. The tutorial I am going to make should be just what your looking for ;)

David and Doug,

Thanks for the info. Not sure how the heck I did it but I actually got it to work last night.

David, I would still love to see you guys on this. I'm sure there are things that could be done better in the process I did.

Thanks for the help guys!
